On the stomach portion of the vest we have mystery pouches that are probably meant to hold grenades. There is one panel covering the tops of all three pouches, with velcro sections on only two of those pouches.

On the back of the vest, at the top, we have a big pouch that uses snap buttons instead of velcro straps. You can fit some rations, supplies, etc. in here.

At the bottom of the back we have some more pouches, covered by a single panel much like the bottom pouches on the front. This time, though, there's a velcro strap on each individual pouch and the 4 pouches are each smaller than the 3 pouches on the front bottom. You can fit a 20 round AR-15 mag in these pouches no problem, but not a 20 round AK mag, such as the Hungarian tanker magazine shown here.

You can also fit 3 10-round SKS/AK stripper clips in each of these back bottom pouches. Very cool!

Overall this is a very nice vest and I'm glad I bought it!

Interesting note: the seller is from Čelinac, Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, but the package was actually shipped from the much larger nearby city of Banja Luka.

There are many assault vests from the former Yugoslavia floating around for sale, and money permitting I will buy more to review!

I have my eye on this one but given my current financial situation I might pass on it. The AK mag-shaped pouches are both really cool and not so cool, because that really limits the rifle you can use in conjunction with the vest, but man do they look sick. This one has a pistol sleeve and what look to be pistol mag pouches, though.

This is a pretty niche thing so I'm not really worried about people sniping vests out from under me, and even if they do, I know they have the same interest in the vests as I do so it's not a big loss. People who want a tactical vest for serious applications would be buying something else.

Also, update for this thread: the front center bottom pouch pictured in >>16844 is the same size as the rear bottom pouches so you can put a 20rd AR-15 magazine, 3 SKS stripper clips, etc. in it just like in the rear pouches, while the pouches on either side are much larger and were probably for grenades. Also I weighed the vest and it came out at 28.5oz which surprised me. I thought it weighed less than that.

This vest weighs 29.9 ounces, which is just slightly more than the first Bosnian assault vest I purchased, which surprised me, because I thought it would weigh more. It is also padded, making it warmer to wear than the other vest. It has a zipper in the front, which is a bit rough but not too bad. A little paraffin wax should make it nice and smooth again.

It feels like this vest was made for someone who was an inch or two shorter than me, especially around the shoulders. I could get used to it, it wouldn't affect tactical operations in and around Sarajevo, but it is slightly uncomfortable. Just on the shoulders though.

On the wearer's right side, we have a pouch at the top, a fat pouch in the middle, and two AK mag-shaped pouches at the bottom. I believe the top pouch is for pistol magazines.

On the wearer's left side, the top and middle pouches are the same, but the pouch on the bottom appears to be a pistol crossdraw holster.

However, the smallest handgun I own will not fit. Not very impressive.

In the middle pouches, you can fit one 20rd AR mag in sideways or 3 SKS stripper clips, however one of the stripper clips must go in with the bullets facing upwards which makes it kinda hard to get out quickly.

My mistake, the picture in >>16976 is of a 20rd AR-15 magazine sitting vertically in the top pouches. Here is a picture of a 20rd AR-15 magazine being inserted into a middle pouch.

The top pouches seem like they wouldn't be great for holding a lot of various types of pistol magazines.

I should mention that this specific vest came to me from Zvornik, Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

There's a big pouch on the back for storing stuff. It's slightly smaller than the pouch on my first vest.

The snaps are in better condition on this vest than my other one, with less rust and more positivity.

The biggest issue with this vest, and why I would choose not to operate with it, is the location of the top pouches on either side of the front of the vest. They're right where you would shoulder a rifle, and with stuff in them, good luck shooting comfortably.

Overall this particular vest is, in my opinion, a 3/10. If I'm going to be operating I'd much rather take my other vest. It's more comfortable, has more storage, you can actually shoulder a rifle properly with it, it doesn't get as hot, and it's adjustable so you can wear it over heavy clothing with no problems. If anything, this new vest shows to me just how good of a design my first vest is.

Today I got this one >>17377 and it's so simple I can give a review really easily.

4 rifle mag pouches, fits AK mags and AR mags just fine. One other pouch on the left shoulder pocket for grenades or whatever. Zipper in the front, adjustable straps for fatness in the back. This vest feels like it's NEVER been worn and I suspect it's actually new production because it doesn't smell like a grandma's house.

I feel kind of ripped off with this one tbh, oh well. It's a functional vest, at least.
