PSA that Nugget clip pouches perfectly hold 10 round magpul AR mags and most fit on MOLLE webbing.

That said, who makes good pouches for 10 round AR mags that don't cost an arm and a leg?

Ever seen these Swedish leather and canvas ammo pouches?
Swede model 1900 bandoleer designed to hold 6.5x55mm ammo for the models 1896 and 1938 Mauser rifles and later, the Ljungman semi-auto rifle. Leather is soft and supple and shows some normal wear. Post-1935, WW2 era example with riveted straps, as opposed to stitched. http://www.terapeak.com/worth/swede-model-1900-mauser-ammo-bandoleer-belt-pouch-unit-marked/391497446703/

Swedish ammo pouch for the 6.5x55 BAR. Could be for either the m/21, fm/35, or m/37. The fm/35 and m/37 have a quick-change barrel adapter attached to the receiver. The fm/35 is a m/21 that has been converted to the quick-change barrel and the m/37 was manufactured that way. http://www.thefirearmsforum.com/threads/antique-vintage-leather-ammo-pouch.134459/

People are even using this vintage military gunleather for things like watch straps.
1964 Swiss Ammo straps for Rolex Sub
Hi strap lovers, here is a recently completed 1964 Swiss Ammo strap for Rolex Sub (model here on a Rolex Submariner Ref. 114060). I must say this strap look really tremendous on the watch. Rolex watches especially the Submariner are most often thought of in the bracelet and they do look great that way. Given the great design of the bracelet with the newly re-designed clasp, it's easy to forget that to put them on leather really brings out their vintage appeal even for the new beefier case design and changes the entire character of the watch. This 1964 Swiss Ammo strap is hand saddle stitching using Olive Drab waxed Irish linen thread is really in keeping with the military nature of the strap as well as the 'No Date' Sub aesthetic. http://dangerous9straps.blogspot.com/2014/12/1964-swiss-ammo-straps-for-rolex-sub.html

I have some other mag pouches meant for higher cap mags but the problem is they drop down and are cumbersome to fish out. I could probably build a spacer.

If you're cheap you could just look for packaging styrofoam and cut it with a hot butter knife - floats too.

Very archaic-looking ammo pouch for 1908, just six years before the Great War. Looks more like an American Civil War cartridge pouch.
