This is my OTV I built from the ground up from parts I found on ebay and at local gunshows. The multicam cover is airsoft but it's within spec and I was able to put the standard USGI OTV kevlar inserts in it without issue. I then acquired a set of Dyneema plates (level III) made in Israel. The plates weigh half as much as ceramic plates currently in issue. In fact they are so light they float in water. I also had the neck/yoke assembly custom converted to multicam by (bulletproofme.com). I then put titanium inserts in some of the weak areas. I have HSGI mag pouches in Multicam. Thats about it....

USGI LBV, fitted with some surplus pouches (ALICE and M56) on the belt to maximise carrying capacity. Surprisingly efficient and easy to use, even for something so old.
And, you know, looks totally badass.
I dunno if the 1911 mag pouches on the left shoulder are the best place, but it seems to work.

Second Chance OTV, with USGI SDS pouches. No ballistic inserts ATM, maybe when I can afford to eat something other than cup ramen.

I also have a bare-bones set of ALICE webbing at my other home, along with a set of Italian army ALICE webbing. I like to collect web gear, so I think I'll get a set of Brit PLCE or '58 pattern webbing next.

Tactical Tailor Modular Assault Vest with an X-Harness with 3 HSGI 2XR TACO pouches. The single pistol magazine clip on is going to be replaced with a 2-3 cell pistol mag pouch, it works for now though. I carry the G17 in a Serpa belt holster that isn't pictured. I've been meaning to get a leg rig for the pistol and an admin pouch. I've thought about adding a pistol rig to the TT-MAV but it seems like it would be awkward to draw.

The mags are range mags, hence the yellow tape. Makes them easier to spot when I drop them on reloads. That reminds me that I need a dump pouch as well.

When I didn't have to wear an IBA or IOTV I loved my riflemens vest. Pretty standard lay out. From left to right, IFAK, two double mag pouches, 3 singles, and an empty canteen pouch. For various things.

7.62x51 rated SAPIs front and back
9mm subgun rated soft armor front and back
8 primary mags in velcro mag pouches, not sure but I think they're eagle
Eagle ACOG pouch, houses my gloves and other misc. shit

Thinking of picking up a PIGBRIG and an AO small chest rig, along with maybe a battle belt eventually. I like the idea of being able to run my armor under everything else, being able to stow my chest rig/belt and still retain at least some protection.

Pretty simple rig, mostly just a thingy to hold magazines for me for classes and competitions. It is the tactical tailor split front MAV. I've got 4 1x AR-15 magazine pouches, one double pistol mag pouch with the magnets in it, an egl dump pouch that rolls up tiny, and also a little zipper pouch on the front. This is a picture of my Saiga 12 double mag pouch. Since nobody out there makes them worth a shit, I had to make my own. (the vestguy.com) makes them. I bought them and they suck almost as much as he does. So I have some HSGI mag pouches, and I figured since I like them so much, I would make some. Time to bump with more gear...

I liked how much SPCs setup worked out, but I also wanted to make a similar setup in a chest rig version:

SDS RACK
(Left to Right)
TAD Gear GPP2
Tactical Tailor shingle
Tactical Tailor triple shingle
Paraclete frag pouch
Eagle Industries 1911 pouch
Issued double 40mm pouch
Eagle Industries M60/SAW pouch

Worn with the ATS war belt setup I've posted around here somewhere, going to pick up a standalone camelback w/ a small pouch on it to go with it for hydration/sustainment.

I'm using the center inner pocket of the RACK as a map pouch, going to try and find a way to paracord a smaller pouch in there to hold other admin stuff too.

Basically one of the earlier plate carriers with the removable chest rig attached to it, not as good a design as the newer ones since it attaches via malice clips as opposed to fastex buckles, but still a great rig.

Got bored, tossed my AR mags in my AK rig just to see how they would fit. Interestingly enough, they fit pretty well. They sink down a little more than they would in an AR mag pouch, but they don't fall out and they're easy enough to get out. Nice temporary solution until I get my AO small...

Yeah, I was just throwing them in out of pure curiosity. I was thinking of getting some magpuls, and back in the day, guys got issued ALICE M16 mag pouches, for 30rnd mags, of course the 20rnd mags slid right down in, so the old trick was to throw an extra pair of socks in the bottom to keep the mags raised up. I'll probably do that, but again, it was just me playing around and I'm gonna get an AO small real soon.

This depends entirely what you mean by Serious. I'm not a high-speed-low-drag operator. I shoot for fun. One of my fun runs is a monthly carbine match I was recently introduced to. It's not run by any national organization. It isn't USPSA. It's Randy's (the match director) version of the world, once a month.

The general rules stay the same, but the specifics can get moved around quite a bit. He has a very specific outlook on the world... very tactical. I'm a USPSA gunner at heart. I want to run fast and pull the trigger - fuck finding cover and retaining my reloads.

The people who actually show up at this competition run the gamut from middle-aged computer nerd ( http://www.operatorchan.org/k/src/133931422860.jpg ), to Airsoft Tacticard ( http://www.operatorchan.org/k/src/133937469232.jpg ), to Sergeant Major ( http://www.operatorchan.org/k/src/133931329343.jpg ). And yes... he seems legit. And he wears Sergeant Major insignias.

I ran the match last time with 2 spare mags stuffed in the back pockets of my jeans. There's not a whole lot of running involved... certainly not more than 100ys under actual time. Remember I mentioned "Randy's Rules"? He's pissed about blackhawk down. So pissed that he wants us to retain magazines. That's his cited reason, anyway. My back pockets are not conducive to retaining my magazines.

I went out and found a basic platform that I could mount a few mags (only gonna pack 3, not 6), and a dump pouch (yay retention) on. As a plus, it puts my reloads about where I expect them from USPSA. A little lower, but I've got that buckle cinched up tighter than in the photo. I've run around in it a bit... it's more comfortable than some vests I've used.

Am I entirely serious? No. I don't thing anyone could mount a machete like that, and be entirely serious. I enjoy tweaking people who take these games too seriously, see? Randy has a thing with knives. I've been warned he will occasionally set a stage where you must "fight your way to your gun" using only the knife on your gear. He starts many matches with a knife check, making sure people are carrying. People have these $$$$$ Benchmade Fixed Blades, and Gerber FLM-IIs, and other huge pieces of expensive steel strapped to their $$$ super-tac molle vests... Well, fuck that. I have a $5 machete and some mags on a leg platform. And I still have a damned good time. So, no. I'm not serious about it. But yes, I AM serious about it. See?

Basically what PJ is saying is, you have the rig extended too far down your thigh, it looks like it's sitting somewhere around your knee.

Ideally you should have it sitting so god damn high that the horizontal straps are touching your balls. That might mean modifying that vertical strap, taking that buckle off and having that tiny portion of strap go around your belt.

This will have it sit higher up, make the mags easier to grab and have the weight closer to your centre of gravity which will stop it flopping around as much when you run, keeping you at speed and your gear from tearing itself apart.

Here's a picture I made a while ago in regards to thigh holsters, but it applies to any sub-loads.

Yeah, I can agree on that with you. I do like the fact that TAG's gear, although not the GREATest quality, It's still US Made gear.
So, you do have some pluses in getting TAG gear, But I'm trying to get avoid it now. Reason being is mainly for the reason I like EI, AI, LBT, etc.. Gear companies like that.

The mags stagger themselves in the pouch, much like HSGI mags. I Sewed in retaining webbing on the top flap, for holding a sacrificial material of one's choosing[in this case, 1/16'' brown foam sheeting] to minimize wear and tear on the pouch caused by the sharp feed lips of the Saiga12 mags.

This Saiga 12 setup also has ESAPI plates installed. The Groin protector has 2 kevlar inserts for that extra dick protection that I think is a must have feature. I also made an elastic shoulder DAPS retainer, it velcros in place on both shoulders and rides under the plate flap[if you look closely]. I did this to form a tighter fit to the arms and minimize the silhouette yet not hinder movement and comfort.

No prob, it was my bad for forgetting my pic in the first place. Thankfully, I had the foresight to copy/paste my post into a word document after I realized my mistake.

Hands-down the best PC I've tried so far, issued or otherwise. Only thing I would ask for is some kind of secondary retention for the plates. I'm not 100% confident with the velcro retention. Besides that, you can tell that this is a thoroughly thought-out design.
Good stuff:
1. The pads on the back of the PC keep the back plate (Weighed down with water, assaulter's kit, bag, etc.) off your spine and assist in ventilation.
2. The split cummerbund flaps are a pretty good idea. All you need to do to enter/exit is lift up on one of the flaps and remove/re-attach one side of the cummerbund.
3. The drag handle. Super important if you're in the man-hunting business but unfortunately overlooked in most cases. The drag handle on the PIG contains a plastic tube that makes it easier and more comfortable to grab in a bad situation(or PT).
4. Shoulder straps. The PIG uses G-hooks for shoulder strap adjustment, making it fast and easy to adjust.
5. The front and back of the PC has tons of velcro for the attachment of patches. I could see this being useful for LEO that need to wear massive identification patches, I just slap a flag and/or a morale patch on there. ID patches go on my sleeves and kevlar.
6. Cummerbund options. When I bought it they had a MOLLE and an elastic option. I believe they now have a MOLLE option that can contain a soft-armor insert. I opted for the elastic option with side plate pockets. It keeps my sides slick so I'm not walking around like some skinny tough-guy in the gym with my arms hanging out a couple feet from my body. IFAK and NODs pouches go on my belt, radio goes on my back. It also keeps the front and back plates from sagging and moving around while I'm running.
7. KANGAROO POUCH INSERTS. I've heard of some people complaining that it makes the cummerbund flaps bulge out and make it difficult to go prone comfortably if you have another mag pouch attached to your front, but I've never had a problem with this. Then again, I use aluminum mags instead of PMAGs. It would be nice if they came out with a 7.62 version to hold M110 mags, but whatevs. Other than that, the pouches themselves are adjustable to hold 20 or 30 rounders and the bungee retention can be adjusted for Ranger plates and such. I mostly just keep them around for those times when I'm going somewhere that I feel more comfortable exceeding the basic magazine load.

Okay, so story time. Pic related - what I picked up today.

I check craigslist every now and then, and late last night saw a post I could not pass up.

Guy looking to get rid of all his gear, had three pics, most of just kitbags and some large pelican cases, and then I saw it: Some AOR1 gear.

It was 1am, so I figured it was too late to call him. I tried sleeping. That didn't happen. At about 10am I gave the guy a call, and an hour later, I was there.

Turns out he was a retired AF CCT, who was attached to SEAL team. Wanted to get rid of pretty much all his stuff since it had been sitting in his garage taking up space since he had gotten out.

We looked over a few things, but there was way too much stuff to go through, so I said screw it I'll take it all. He gave me an extremely nice price (he even hinted a few times he knew what a lot of it was worth, but didn't care), I went to the ATM, then we loaded up my car and I headed home a happy camper.

Pic related - it's what my living room looked like after unpacking everything.

LBT 1961.
LBT M4 chest rig.
LBT MP7 chest rig.

And a hand warmer in AOR1...badass.

When I saw the MP7 chest rig I asked him about it, he got issued one for a while and loved it since it was compact, low-vis, and reliable, but complained that he had to put too many rounds into someone to take them down...even more badass.

He also got a HK416 for a while and had great things to say about it.

I am loving those 2 HK mags on the left.

Other things of interest:
- Lots of medical stuff
- So much camo
- Aqualung vest
- 2 ALICE and 1 MALICE pack
- Some jumpsuits and cold weather gear

So yeah, I have had a pretty damn good day.

Might sell some stuff off, probably going to give away some stuff too, need a few days to go through everything first.

Most of the stuff I'm selling is extra AOR1 stuff I don't need, if anyone's interested in any of it shoot me an email and we can talk details. The stuff's pretty rare and pricey, but I'm always willing to cut an OPERATOR a really good deal.

As for the rest of the stuff, it's definitely looking like I'll be doing a small Amnesty drive soon, just need a week or two to sort everything, pay off credit card, school, etc. But there'll be some fun stuff. I'll post it in trade when I get closer to doing it and give people fair notice as well.

Loving this one, lighter than my MCAV because of the SAPIs instead of steel plates, but still nice coverage because of the side inserts I got with it:

Eagle Industries Assault Plate Carrier

- Ceradyne SAPIs front/back
- Paraclete plate backers
- Velocity Systems soft armor side inserts

- Triple mag insert I rigged up out of the remains of an old ESSTAC chest rig
- Eagle Industries signal/medic pouch (holds leatherman, 2 small chemlights, some bandaids, compass, alcohol pads, sharpie, etc.)
- Eagle Pistol Mag Pouch
- Blue Force Gear double shingle (only keep one mag in here, just like the option to throw in another if needed)

To be worn with the war belt I've already posted a dozen times.

Still need to get a hydration carrier, thinking about one of SKD's PIG 3L ones, and some shoulder pads from somewhere...

Are you right or left handed?
That big pouch looks like it'd be in the way of your pistol holster.
10 rifle mags seems like a bit much, but to each his own I guess.
Are you running plates in this? if not, I might suggest a simpler chest rig. Also, the KA-BAR on the shoulder seems like it'd get uncomfortable fast in that postion.

I see what could be 2 M9 mags and something else up there, both on (you're right handed I'm assuming because your primary mags move across the left) your stock shoulder. That might get in the way, what kind of holster do you use?
That IFAK might catch on a fast draw brother, and flinging your pistol across the room or accidentally locking the slide back isn't fun.

Try to find a smaller lower profile pouch or knock one of those mag pouches out to the back to admin up later.
If you have to wear a pack, that knife is gonna suck, if you catch on something, you may lose that knife to gravity.
And if you're using a 2 point or 3 point, you may very well end up getting it stuck attempting to pull it out against your rifle.
I'd place that on your belt either in front of or a ways behind your pistol (if you don't have to sit down often) I've mounted my Nimravus in a variety of ways, nothing more comfortable than either on the vest's right side or on my drop leg platform in front of my pistol.

Image actually kind of related to my battle rattle.
Considering it houses my gear when I'm moving around.

cool man, you're on your way to having a badass rig. May I suggest to tighten your shoulder straps or something to bring your plates up to cover your more vital organs, plates are only so big you know? Also, remember when using a rig with plates to shoot at your target squared up. Meaning to present as much surface area of your plate as possible to your foe, increasing your survival rate. hopefully that makes sense, I'm kind of drunk.

pic related, I'm on the right. Notice how small my plates look compared to my body? It's tough to fully realize, but you got to place those plates appropriately.

I heard a story about some Marine foot mobiles clearing a suspected Taliban compound; rounding a corner a Marine engaged a hostile, with the Marine taking a pretty standard rifleman stance, presenting his left side - and therefore took an AK round exactly in the only spot not covered by his armor (just under the armpit).

But hey, at least he was wearing his armor, unlike the poor guy in "Blackhawk Down" who said he wasn't going to "get shot in the back, running away."

Which is why they train you not to blade when clearing houses, you always, always keep your torso forward, because that is where your plate is. When I was in they were teaching us to hold our rifle dead center of our upper chest, and aim using the front sight assembly, took getting used to but it made damn sure you didn't blade a target in close quarters.

Yes, they are legit. I was skeptical at first, but I had trained with the founder about two years ago at a basic carbine clinic. Tracer Tong and I attended a two-man team tactics class they held about a few months ago and we can both attest that this is legit training. Yeah, there's a lot of zombie derp about them... And half their members are either obese white guys in tacticool gear or Asian guys with more money than sense... But, their instructors are almost all SOF of some kind and most of them with instructor creds within their respective communities.
They recently opened a ft. bragg-esque shoot house facility and I will be attending a cqb class they are holding this Saturday.

Pic related, the kit I'm bringing to the class.

Got the Thorntail mount for my scout light, and immediately ordered another one for my M952 on my AR. These things are fucking awesome, really slims the profile of the rifle. Much better than the stock mount, which had the light sticking out at 90 degrees. Unfortunately the MI quadrail I have doesn't allow me to put the lightmore in line with the barrel due to the radius of the curve going up to the optic, but still a much better mounting solution than the original.

The plates are Armor Express Triton III+ standalone plates. I've had these for a while and been waiting on my carrier. They fit nicely. They are steel which I wish I wouldn't have done. I am glad I got real certified plates though. They just need some sort of spall lining - if you order these online it looks like there is one, but don't be fooled - there isn't. I am thinking about a few coats of clear Plasti-Dip for mine but I hate to Bubba them. I might just sell them and get ceramic but I'm afraid ceramic will crack and I won't know. Probably unwarranted.

I believe the odd size is referred to as a "Swimmer cut" but I'm not sure. They seem much smaller in the shoulder area than a standard plate.

Here is a picture of a few items - my plate carrier, ALICE ruck with the Hellcat mods, and the IIFS vest I bought as my first piece of gear.

Don't buy an IIFS vest - they suck as far as I'm concerned. Hard to adjust and it digs in to you no matter what. Even the $13 I spent on it was wasted as far as I'm concerned.

I do like the Hellcat ALICE though. I think I talked a little more about it in /s/ once.

Once again, camera on iPhone won't orient pics properly.

Streamlined my kit a bit. This is my class/comp/shtf rig.

Crye jpc w/ lvl 4 standalone plates because I don't wanna get holes poked in me if I can help it.
I keep a notepad & pen in the built in admin flap for whatever pertinent info I can write down for later reference.
Esstac kywis in the cummerbund mag flap to eliminate the need for bungee retention (which is too slow for my tastes).
I added firstspear shoulder pads to help distribute the weight a bit.
Firstspear double Glock mag pouches (these are their adaptation of the old fort Bragg pouches that they originally developed while working at eagle). I originally had one of their rifle mag pouches in the same spot but with the cummerbund mags, it became redundant.
Paraclete double rifle mag pouch as sustainment. I can always move loaded mags into the cummerbund if time and opportunity permits.
Paraclete mbitr pouch for future integration of commo setup. Right now it just holds chemlights, snacks and my iPhone.
I
Peltor headset has cord for use with comms, but currently I just hook it in to my iPhone.
Helmet has mount for contour roam 2 camera.
(Yes, it is airshit, but not gonna drop damn near 300 on a glorified skateboard helmet if I'm not gonna run nods on it...)

On the back, running a mayflower assaulter's back panel. Top pouch holds the issued nvg pouch insert which houses my contour when not in use and miscellaneous gear that isn't mission essential
Bottom pouch is a tear-away ifak. I dummy corded the release buckle so I can access myself if I need to render self aid before a buddy can get to me.
Inside the panel is a platypus 60oz bladder. I might end up upgrading to a source bladder in the future.
Opposite side of helmet is a Princeton tec charge pro mpls light in red/white (once again, no nods, so no need for IR lamp)

I originally had been Jonesing for the LBT-1749 ten pocket ruck, but I found this one for a steal. I replaced the original ALICE frame for a Tactical Tailor MALICE frame and added on an HSGI ALIPAD (which LBT copied as part of the suspension system on the 1749).
Now, I have 4L of water right near my back, the Ruck itself has been spaced out a bit to get me a bit of ventilation... and in the end, it still cost me less than a new 8 pocket ruck.

Took it out twice so far. Soooo much more comfortable than my old overloaded Camelbak >>6478 which will be going up for sale after giving it a good wash.

Babby's first chest rig. It's been a learning process with trial and error and is still incomplete.

It's just an old discontinued Eagle 6 mag rig that works well enough for AR-15 usage though of course I could use it with my AK as well. I might try sewing some more velcro on the insides of the flaps so I have more adjustment space to tighten things down. I also didn't realize how hueg the maxpedition admin pouches were. May require some rethinking. The surplus DCU pouch is a placeholder or at least beginnings for a trauma kit (though the max. pouch might be a better option for that). I want to put one together anyway for accidents when away from close help/just in case and I might as well just keep it on the vest.

I tried doing some impromptu padding on the straps, but I realized it got in the way of my pack straps, so slightly rubbed neck it is.

I bought a DCU FLC for ten bux the other day just to play around with, but I still think I'll stick with this thing for now. Might turn the FLC into a fishing/woods vest or something.

You might like the TT fightlight admin pouch. 5" tall x 8" wide x 2" deep. And it's $35 so It won't break the bank.

I sold my RRV and moved to a all Tactical Tailor mini MAV, 3 mag and 2 mag panels, the admin pouch, and 2 magna double mag pouches.

3 day pack that's being replaced by a state of the art, next gen, top of the line alice pack and frame with the molle II straps, kidney pad and MSS carrier with some other little upgrades which is a little more difficult to use with a rifle and chest rig, but still workable and far better for inna mountains. This pack is going to get a dark green rit dye bath and will go in my truck as a secondary BOB as I replace my current bag items with better stuff.

bookmark'd, thanks

I like that it folds down too and I regret not getting the hurp durp "stealth" version of the maxipad pouch with a zipper instead of super duper velcro errything.

Fuck year! That was my first rig too! The Eagle 6-mag chest rig is extremely solid, not too big but there's still some space to throw stuff like an IFAK on. I've got 2 FLCs, and I'd certainly pick this over either of them any day.

It'll take a bunch of trial and error to see what works best for you, since the only way to really know what you like is to fuck around with every conceivable setup and figure out what you do and don't like.

5.11 messenger bag. Ammo carrier

Fits about 18 AR mags across the bag. there are 2 20 round mags to the left of the ammo box which is about 2-3 mags wide. All but 3 of the mags were fully loaded.

The laptop pouch had 5 9mm AR mags(empty) in it and a couple handgun mags and just random shotshell boxes.

Weight isn't too horrible but its not comfortable. Would definitely not be fun to run around with.

Figured it'd be good to load up any extra mags not carried on your person or in your main pack. Gives you the other storage options available on the bag as well as being 5.11 made with MOLLE.

Mayflower APC with an EGL Monkey Stomper and Tactical Tailor Fight Light Double Mag Pouch.

I ran this vest through a 3 day combat rifle class and if you buy the EGL pouch be sure to keep the flaps on it. They are detachable and I had them off and at home for the class. Problem is your mags will fall out without them on when doing anything active like bounding drills. This is a problem.

After I got back from the class I bought a war belt because I had a chance to try one out for a bit and thought it was awesome. This is an HSGI Sure-Grip with the HSGI Cobra belt. I have two HSGI Double Decker Tacos, a Marz Tactical IFAK pouch, and a Marz Tactical tourniquet pouch. The holster is a Safariland 6004 for my 1911.

I am dissatisfied with both of the Marz pouches - the IFAK is way bigger than it needs to be for the blowout kit and I learned that keeping the TQ in a pouch like that is not a great idea - if you need it you need it fast. Both will be replaced when I get the funds.

The vest holds 8 30-round magazines(pinned to 5 for us poor canadians) and one 20-round mag in the admin pouch. Permits and paper go in the admin, the side pockets unzip to stow whatever else I'm bringing. I usually keep my IFAK off the molle to save space.

About as often as brain fluid.

This is 1 of my Multicam OTVs. This one is my go-to vest for when the time comes that I need to be ultra shady. I used a 1000D Cordura airsoft vest for the outer shell and installed perfect fitting mil-surplus kevlar inserts. Also ultra lightweight Dyneema plates front and back.
As for the pouches. I designed them myself and made them at home using all mil-spec materials. Quadruple+ stitching in the high stress/wear areas.

Yeah I can't wait either, especially would like him to start doing stuff in Grey.

I like the FCPC a lot, definitely one of the lightest rigs and most thought out rigs I've ever used, just wish I'd gotten one a size larger since they run a little small, at least for me.

From the time I ordered til delivery to my door took 11 weeks and a couple days, but they kept comms up the entire time, updating me on lead times ever three weeks or so.

Here's a pic of the completed battle belt minus a poncho to stick in the butt pack, with my hog killering rifle and the CVC NVG helmet project I'm working on... need to get velcro patches and some paint on it to complete it, possibly new earpro, though the Howard Leights work fine.

This is what I'll be running the 2014 Pawnee Run 'n Gun in.

1: mag pouch for 1911.
2: First aid kit
3: Spare water bottles (backpack)
4: 1-qt canteen
5: pouch for 1-qt canteen
6: Taurus 1911, and a drop-leg holster for it.
7: Spare mags for 1911
8: Loose ammo to refill 1911 mags mid-race
9: Backpack for loose items
10: 20-inch AR-15 rifle using a 3-9x40 optic and backup-iron sights, with a sling from a tool bag attached.
11: Work gloves
12: Mags for the AR
13: MP3 player
14: Boonie cover
15: high-protein granola bars
16: (next to IFAK) mag holder for the AR

Total weight is 34 pounds. 80 rounds for the 1911, 180 for the AR. 2 quarts of water.

A lot of the gear is due to be replaced when funds allow. The belt works, but it's the old style and isn't mechanically locked. The 1911 holster is airshit-tier, but it holds up for wind sprints, so it'll work for now. The ALICE pouches work, but they're floppy, and I prefer that gear holds tighter than they do.

And I would DEFINITELY prefer to be carrying a S&W M&P9 instead of the 1911, but I just can't afford to buy a new pistol these days. Not that I'm complaining about being broke, I just have more urgent spending priorities than new guns.

Crye JPC, E-Sapis
BFG Admin pouch on front. not much in there. chem lights because I use them
Emdom VHC on back
BFG Small utility pouch for radio and junk

Pretty simple. Most everything important is on the second line

Comms:
Comtac IIIs
Skyeye Amped PTT with kenwood connector
Baofeng UV5R with extended battery, QD Adapter connected to routing cable, up the left cummerbund to the back, with a Nagoya 771 10 inch antenna, maybe 12"

Probably excessively expensive for a little cheap baofeng, but I shoot with the comtacs, and I use them out on field ops with the units 152s and peltor PTTs

USMC ILBE "battle belt". Just a placeholder so I could put it together. Buying a Tyr Brokos shortly
ITW Fastmag with Multicam Whisky Two Four cover incoming
Emdom Universal Mag pouches (EXCELLENT)
BFG Micro Dump
BFG Trauma Kit. Two tourniquets, lots of gauze, a pressure bandage, shears, sharpie, nail scissors
BFG Boo boo pouch, for gloves and car keys
G19 Kydex holster with drilled MALICE Clip setup for molle
Eagle Pistol mag pouches, soon to be replaced with BFG Dual or emdom double Kywis

Crye G3s, AC Shirt is pictured, but I stashed it.
Fake ass TMC Airframe that I bought to decide if I liked the airframe look or not. Short answer, I do, but They look retarded bare without a cover or velcro. Don't have plans to mount my comtacs, because I like them unmolested.

New range belt:

Stormrider Gear Overlord & Underlord
http://www.stormridergear.com/collections/stormrider-system

The big obnoxious logo is a velcro backed PVC patch, so you can take it off. BTDT linked me to this small mom&pop business. All I can say is "Wow", Jeni knows how to make a belt. I plan on ordering another in black to replace my aging duty belt for work. The under and overbelt are velcro'd so the system is keeperless so I don't have to keep track of my beltkeepers anymore.

FNS-9 holster is Bladetech and the S&W Model 14 holster is by G-Code, both are attached to the belt by G-Code's RTI rig which is pretty bitch'n. I got tired of taking apart my belts when swapping guns and this RTI system seems to be the way to go. I plan on converting my duty belt and Safariland 6395 over to the RTI so I can use the holster when I shoot. I plan on buying 3 more TRI wheels and taco adapter so I can switch the belt from all pistol mags to rifle mags.

Got one of the Soviet skeletonized police holsters for my Makarov, Always liked the look of them but hadn't gotten one because they appeared huge and unwieldy in pictures but it's actually not awful. The leather is supple and it fits on the belt quite nicely. Once it's formed it should be pretty decent.

I've read on I think, Makarov.com that police would mount one of these under their desk for easy access to their pistol when seated.

Ok gearfags.

I'm looking for a chest rig. Slim, comfortable, tight fitting, light. Something you could wear all day for days on end while rucking with a pack on. Something that would feel secure while climbing, running, or jumping.

Needs to carry 4-6 PMAGs, a fixed blade knife, and a small flashlight at minimum. I'd like to be able to reconfigure it to work with .308 and 5.56. If I added anything else it would be a couple pistol mags and a radio.

I've had the Blue Force Gear Tenspeed M4 rig suggested to me, and it looks great for the price. If I don't find anything else I like better, I'll probably pick up one of those. Was also looking at the RACKminus, though. Seems like the same concept but 100% re-configurable. It would end up being quite a bit more expensive with the pouches, but might be a better choice in the long run. When I get armor I'm just going to get a slick carrier to wear underneath.

Thoughts on these options, or recommendations on similar products or things that would fit my needs?

The BFG offerings are gonna be the best way to have a light, customizable setup.

If you want something already setup, It sounds like either the Heavy version of the Travis Haley Rig or a Mayflower Pusher will be the best configured setups for your needs.

Thanks for the product suggestions.

At this point I think I'm deciding between getting a BFG RACKminus and having to fuck with choosing and buying all the pouches I need for it, or just getting one of those HSP rigs. The BFG would end up being the more expensive choice, but also probably the better choice in the long run. I just wouldn't have a functional setup until I bought another $100 or so of pouches. Or I could just buy both and use the Haley until I get the BFG set up, then use the Haley as a dedicated for my AR10.

Related question, Coyote or Foliage green? I have existing shit in both colors, but not enough to sway me one way or another. The green is definitely the more terrain versatile color, but Coyote has that old school canvas look to it. Fugg.

Specialty defense Systems shotshell panels on FLC. Holds 16 rounds each, has roll-away flaps for better retention and weather resistance. Pretty nice, don't know why they're not more common.

Specialty Defense Systems holster for M9 and similar-sized pistols.(Top right.) Part of the Airsafe survival vest system it prioritizes retention, it fully-encloses the pistol and secures with two Lift The Dot snaps, has an elastic band and another Lift the Dot snap on the mag pocket, secures to a vest with four MOLLE straps. not very good for a quick-draw, but your pistol won't come loose any time before doomsday. Would be good for off-roading and things of that nature.

Extreme cold weather gear for the snowpoclypse.

N3-B parka
F1-B trousers
Mittens and Mickey Mouse boots.

Very heavy for the northeast, but good for winter camping when you're sitting outdoors not doing much. Boots are the weakest link, they're rubber inside and out so there's nowhere for sweat to go. Mukluks or modern hunting boots are a better option.

My current setup. Kind of new to using a plate carrier, since I never owned one before I got this one from an airsoft buddy of mine. Usually, I'd just use the FLC with its pouches over IOTV. Gear is:

LBT 6094A in Tan 499
GGG 1x3 Mag shingle and 1x2 mag pouch
GGG Slim IFAK pouch (no shears in kit)
GGG Multi-purpose utility pouch
WAS Elite Ops Cargo pack w/ Source 2L bladder
AR500 Level IV composite plates (front/rear)
Gentex ACH(L)
Ops-Core Occ-Dial liner kit
USGI NVG mount (not pictured)
16" BCM mid-length upper w/ KMR 15 rail and Gunfighter Comp Mod 0
Spikes Tactical lower w/ PSA mil-spec lpk and H buffer
Troy folding battle sights with HK-style front sight
Aimpoint Comp M4s w/ killflash
Blue Force Gear Padded Vickers Sling
Magpul PMag Gen 2 x9
Troy Battle Mag x8

Any tips greatly appreciated. This is kind of my drill setup, but I would never take the gear, except helmet to drill because I don't want to look like a geardo faggot, which I kind of am. So really, I'll use this for a carbine course sometime in the future.

Took what I had in the house and took some really shitty photos!

First is CBRN gear! Going left to right;

- Two non-calibrated CDV-717s, they're more for keeping the kits together than anything.

- Calibrated CDV-720 w/ original headset (set it to a lab for calibration), it's functional and field ready.

- Straps for the meters/geigers.

- CDV-750 charging unit, it functions which is awesome.

- Six non-calibrated CDV-742 Dosimeters, they're suffering from electro-discharge so they need work.

- Calibrated CDV-715, this puppy needs some serious rads before it moves the needle.

- Another CDV-720, sharing the box with another CDV-715.

(On the red blanket)

- M17A2 /w laser outserts, M1 waterproofing bag, and training filters.

- Israeli Civilian mask, 40mm thread.

- M40 w/ tinted outserts, laser outserts, M1 waterproofing bag, training cards and training filter.

- M256A1 Chemical Agent Detection Kits

- M8 Chemical Detection Paper

- M295 Individual Equipment Decon Kits

- M291 Personal Decon Kit

- Type-II Butyl Gloves

- Original CDV-777-A box and CDV-777 box.

- Associated documents for everything.

Last, but not least...

- Condor MCR-4 w/ large GP pouch, slim GP pouch,

- Shitty, nah really shitty Rothco shotshell bandoleer, it's being replace with a Blackhawk bandoleer ASAP(...unless someone can offer a better option)

- Condor mag inserts attached to GI mag insert (they get the job done for shotshell cards) in total seven mag/card slots

- Shotshell card quick detach velcro pad

- IFAK in a pouch I can't who made...

- Back is the "hyrdo harness" w/ GI radio pouch attached with UV-5R Baochang sitting in it, cheap Baochang mic, GLINT IFF flag, and nametape.

- PASGT armor vest

This concludes our semi-poorfag gear list/collection. Please tune in when we clean out the closet and shed...

Still the same basic kit, but with a few additions.

Still running the SKD Pig Brigandine with the 4 pouch Systema on the front. Large SAPIs inside.

Added a Contigency Procurement Group high cut ballistic helmet. Long story behind that but I have it now. Gonna paint it and possibly add some cloth to get it matching the rest of my kit and (more importantly) not stick out like a big black...head. Also gonna have to figure out a way to add ear pro to the rails. Wondering if I'll have to get some Peltors or if there's a way to rig up a set of Howard Leights the same way. If nobody has made an adapter for those to interface with a helmet rail, it's a big untapped market, IMO.

Emdom/MM CM belt has had the shitty Snapdragon buckle replaced with a ADF Raptor. It's a US made copy of the Cobra buckle. Much more reliable and positive securing than the Snapdragon, which had a tendency to pop loose on me. No doubt my considerable girth is a major factor in that, but now I have a buckle that refuses to open under load, rather that one that pops open. Win. I've added a Glock field knife (in case I run low on explosives) and have rigged the belt adaptor for my Safariland with a QLS, so I can swap it between my Glock and my 1911 easily. I've also added a HSGI velcro inner belt and it makes a huge difference in keeping the belt in place.

Lastly, I've got a pair of SKD Alpha gloves. Good fit, great flexibilty and dexterity, but also good abrasion resistance. I didn't get the Touch models, unfortunately, but if I'm in a situation where I'm kitted up with my gloves on, I doubt I'll be spending much time on my phone. Then again...ballistic calculators, GPS, etc...

So...some things I still need or want to add:
*IFAK. I go back and forth between the ITS ETA Trauma kit or the Dark Angel Medical DARK. Then again I could just roll my own...
*Hydration. I really ought to put a hydration carrier on the plate carrier. Then again maybe I'd be better off having a pack with hydration. Pros and cons.
*Dump pouch. Gotta have somewhere to put the twinkies and cupcakes.
*Soft armor. Side plates? I'm not getting the most out of my SAPIs without soft armor behind them. My size is again an issue here, unfortunately. XL BALCS should do the trick but XL BALCS and appropriately sized carriers can be tricky to find. I'm not well set up in my current residence for storing it flat, either. There's always plain SAPI shaped backers, I suppose. Pros and cons.
*Night vision? My dome came with a mounting point preinstalled, so it opens up the option of adding night vision. I'll have to be careful with my decisions there to make the right choice, keeping my rifle configuration in mind. Might have to lose the Surefire weaponlight I currently run and switch to a DBAL to get the maximum benefit out of the NOD. Will also have to see how well it works out sighting through my T-1 Micro with something like a PVS-14 stuck to my face. Night vision is a long ways down the line though, I think.

Still plenty to do, but definitely getting there and thinking harder about choices.

Just put this together tonight. I have a back panel for it, but Im not going to mount it until my plates come in.

-Tasmanian Tiger MkII Chest Rig. Basically a modified RRV, with 4x mag pouches, and some nicely profiled utility pouches on either side. The magpouches will hold 2 AR mags but only hold one of these vz58 mags each. Im not sure if I like the flaps but they are removable. I may put bungees on or something. The padding on the inside is really nice without going overboard.
-Paraclete double M4 pouch repurposed to hold my Bowchang. I like it better than most "radio pouches". Im still working on a custom harness with PTT and remote antenna.
-2x HSGI pistol pouches. These have buckles as well as velcro with "silencers" if you dont want the velcro. They dont have drainage grommets which is pretty ghey. Im going to put my own in. Otherwise theyre awesome.
-Condor Admin Pouch, seems ok for what I payed for it.
-Strike Hard Gear SKS stripper clip pouch. Holds 3 10 round stripper clips for either the vz58 or SKS.

It came with a 3 mag kangaroo insert thats next to useless since the straps are in the way for two of them.

Ill post my battle belt in a few days once Im done screwing around with it.

YEEEAHHH PLAYA
I've got a recon harness laying around here somewhere. Only issue is that 90% of the time I'm going to be wearing my S4 gear binocular harness with my big dumb Steiners. I want to try rigging it up in the runner style though so I can keep a pistol with me.

Here's my Hill People Gear Tarahumara I took scouting for Spring Bear season yesterday.

Juuust big enough for the essentials to wear comfortably. Sitka Kelvin lite hoodie, Patagonia Torrentshell Plus rain/wind shell, Arc'teryx merino gaitor, gloves, nalgeen canteen, baby wipes, SOL blanket some basic first aid and trail food and a Kahr CM9 in case I ran into Russians taking pictures by our cowboy and indian battlefields.

Bear spray, mora, lighter and errything else stay on person.

Still a foot to foot and a half of snow at even 4500 feet. Found a couple sets of tracks though.
