Okay I know it was probably stupid of me to trade an AK for this but I really needed a smaller carry gun.

I miss my AK but on the bright side, this little Sig came with 3 mags (one with the extended pinky) and 2 holsters (one IWB and one OWB).

Anyone got some interesting trade stories? Ones where you came out on top and got away with a steal? Ones where you got ripped off and are embarrassed about it?

My bad. It's late and I just realized I didn't specify shit in my post.
Sig Sauer p938 (which is in 9mm but everyone always thinks it's a .380)

As for the AK, it was a Romanian WASR-10. I can't remember the year on it (apparently that makes a difference). It was either manufactured in 2001 or 2002.

I have mix feeling on this 1) foreign made AK has shot up in prices due to import ban and more shitty US made AKs are hitting the market 2) Trump in office had made gun prices drop across the board

I don't know the value of the pistol you trade for but looks like a full package with a lot of accessories.

He basically said, "Look, Trump is in office and nobody's buying rifles right now. They're not afraid of anything like that getting banned anytime soon. What people ARE buying are handguns for personal protection. Thanks to all the protests and riots and stuff."

So I think for now, I got the better end of the deal. He'll probably hold that AK until the shit hits the fan or a democrat becomes president and then he'll sell it for twice it's value (and then he'll have the better end of the deal).

How thick is a P938 compared to other CCW friendly guns?

It's not a WASR. WASRs don't have magwell dimples. The look and date match the SAR-1 which is a far superior rifle to the WASR but still on the low end of imported AKs. SAR-1s still sell for $600+ though, due to them not being imported since 2003.

Shit you're right. It's a SAR-1. I didn't own that rifle long enough to really get to know her.

>>105527
It's a great CCW gun. It's small and has a fairly slim profile. It is a little on the heavy side though. Maybe that's just me being a little bitch but my last CCW had a polymer frame so it was a lot lighter. I guess I just need to get used to the way this one feels. Also the whole cocked and locked thing is new for me. I've never had to deal with a safety on a handgun before. Can't tell if I like it yet or not.

The P238 is smaller than a Glock 42 in length and width, IIRC. The P938 is a tiny bit larger than the P238, but is still smaller than a Glock 43.

You had no money to simply buy a handgun outright, while keeping the SAR-1?

I had money. I just wasn't wanting to spend any of it. I was saving up for a trip to Europe at the time.

I was going to sell the AK to get more money for said trip but no one wanted to buy it. They were all low balling me; wanting to pay only $400-$500 for it. So I traded for the SIG instead.

It's seems like an OK trade in a practical sense if you are going to carry it and didn't have anything else to CCW.

But if she's going on a trip to Europe, our Tibbles will be unarmed anyway...

Yeah. I might die. I have to spend time in both England and France before making it to Spain.

They're both shit holes right now.

Hey good news, the Catalonian independence movement means you might get to witness a civil war too.

>Hey good news, the Catalonian independence movement means you might get to witness a civil war too.

I was there for there for VMworld EU on their national holiday thing (the catalonian one, not the spanish one). Was kinda unexpected to suddenly have 350000 people in the streets with separatist flags. Of course the "cross" their street protest/party was basically centered on the place we had to go for a party of our own. That was interesting but everyone was extremely civil.

Here in Belgistan, there would've been some troublemakers out to exploit the situation. There, no such thing as far as I could tell. Only saw two guys that I could identify as Antifa due to some symbols on T-shirts.

The funny bits:
1) They seem to think the EU will support their independence since there were EU flags in the crowd. Oh you poor naive souls.
2) The protests & parties kinda dissolved at around 20:00. Super weird. You'd have expected a lot of people to remain in the streets even after the official protest was over, but nope. Virtually nothing left.

So genuine, authentic protesters? As in not paid or something crazy like that?

Damn I didn't realize this was still going on.

I was in London when the London Riots broke out back in 2011. That shit was insane. The streets went absolutely bonkers and for days the only sound you could hear were those obnoxious European ambulance sirens.
I tried to stay away from the heated areas but it was still pretty sketchy. And I had no personal protection to speak of... because LONDON.
