Damn those backup sights are meaty. On a Glock, I'm surprised there aren't backup rear sights made for this on the actual backplate to make the whole thing a little more streamlined.

This is a Strike One but it illustrates what I'm trying to say.

That said I also think pistol sights are only going to get more popular and that pleases me. Have you done a lot of shooting with the optic?

Only about 300rds so far. I'll take it to the Thursday evening mini practical pistol competitions I've been going to though. I finally got holsters for it in the mail yesterday so I can actually use it more than poking holes on a static range.

Have you noticed any issues with the optic getting dirty or anything like that? I've been wondering about snow or rain making it harder to see the target and dot properly.

I've only shot it once and it was a static range lol. I never had any trouble with that with the optics on my rifles though. A little rain on the objective lens of my ACOGs is all I ever noticed. Doesn't really affect much, just is a little annoying, but ofc you can just wipe it off. The only concerning thing about the RMR is the emitter is exposed so theoretically you could get mud in between the emitter and the lens. Then there are the backup irons though so whatever.

Er sorry, not objective lens, but whatever is the lens your eyeball looks into. Since it's facing up when you've got it on a sling and all. I doubt droplets on the objective lens would even be visible.

Should be noted that with the Stryk B they caved to market pressure and went with Glock style setup because people wanted "more options".
A bit of a shame, really. The backplate setup had a lot of advantages.

But it illustrates why Glock knockoff slides would want to stick to conventions.

There is this Balor mount that uses the back plate to mount a T2 and includes backup irons with a hilariously short sight radius.

Doesn't look too bad, though you can't get the optic as low as with a cut in the slide.
