Long time no see, lads

How hard would it be to rebarrel my CZ82 in 32ACP assuming I can get an appropriate CZ83 barrel? I know I would need a hydraulic press but I gave one now so I’m curious what other tools I would need

So... you want to take a CZ 82 and rechamber and rebarrel it from 9x18mm Makarov to .32 ACP?

Why not just get a good .32 pistol, like a Colt Model 1903 Pocket Hammerless designed by John Moses Browning, or a Walther PPK (labeled 7.65mm Kurz), or a SIG Sauer P230 which is a larger more modern clone of the PPK, or a Beretta 81FS Cheetah (still in production), or how about another Czech pistol made in .32 ACP like the CZ 83? The CZ 50 and CZ 70 (also .32 ACP pistols) are somewhat common on the surplus market as well, but the 83 is the better buy. First, it uses a double-stack magazine (15+1 of .32 ACP) and was in production until 2012, so you can get one in pretty decent condition. It has Walther PPK design elements, such as the fixed barrel and blowback operation, but has CZ’s control scheme of a manual safety rather than a de-cocker.

Here are two CZ 83s in .32ACP. Reportedly really nice shooting guns.

CZ 83 7,65 milsurp, refinished by CCR.
Another old girl, rescued. This was a CAI import that was full of Israeli dirt and old gun oil. It is import stamped by electric pencil on the front strap; a somewhat discrete location compared to Century's normal MO of "fuggit, put it on the slide!"

I did some light defect correction on edges with a file and also softened up the hard edges left by the import marking on the front strap. CCR does an exemplary job of fixing defects, pitting, etc but I wanted to make sure the import mark was still there but not glaring before they did plating.

Grips are from Grips4U because CZ USA has been OOS on their walnut for some time. https://www.reddit.com/r/guns/comments/6yjy7n/cz_83_765_milsurp_refinished_by_ccr/

As you are a strict proponent of the ideal gas constant, you want to leave that CZ 82 be and get an '83 if you want something in .32 Auto.

Good question.
Loading 7.65x17mmSR Browning into a double-column 9x18mm Makarov magazine may be problematic.

It's better to just buy a CZ83.
That's how big a hassle it is.

You might get the old tube out with no fuckups, and you might get the new one in as well as the old.

My two bits-
"Please don't". Just buy what you want. This is not a 1911 where you can mix and match.
