How crappy did you hear it was?

Took it out yesterday; it shot straight and great. The only thing worrisome is the ergonomics; can't really get a high grip on it. Trigger's kind of springy like a TT-33, but I heard replacing the firing pin and FPblock with the Harrington competition firing pin and FPblock would make things a bit better.

Also, when'd you get that Pre-B? The finish on that fella looks real nice. I ended up replacing my recoil spring with a 15lb one and it's become one of my go-to range guns now. Though I might need to replace the barrel soon.

I've heard they have awful triggers, terrible ergos, have a lot of recoil and break the firing pin if dry fired. It seems like the gun would be a decent design if it were a 9mm, but 7.62 Tokarev is too much for it.

I got if from CDI Sales on Gunbroker. It was the nicest blued examples I they've had recently so I jumped on it. The blued guns don't come up much, but they have had a bunch of good condition enamel or phosphate coated ones for sale lately.

Finally got around to refinishing my Hi-Power. The idiot marks of misguided youth are still there but it's a lot prettier now that it's been cerakoted. The slide is midnight blue and the lower half and small parts are stainless.

>>102001
Thanks. One day I want a CZ with a satin blued slide and a hard chrome frame. That gun is nice enough that I feel bad refinishing it, so maybe I'll get a beater to work on. We'll see. My Kadet kit still needs a permanent home too.

Holy crap that bluing is pristine!

The Turk was lonely so I got got it a German to hang out with. On another note the way that Zenith did their grip frame using the push pin makes me think I can cut down an old steel G3 grip frame and go for that old school sp89 look. The G3 frame fits and the zenith trigger pack lines up, but I've not started surgery to cut the back end off yet.

So I'm at the range today and I'm talking with the guy in the next lane. I offer to let him put one of his mags through my AR.

Stormwerkz AR180 stock adapter type 2
ACE Doublestar AKFX stock

In the end, >>96899 didn't just get different furniture, but a new barrel as well (the 20" is still around, since buying a shorter barrel is legally much easier than shortening an existing barrel*). I also got me a nice nickel 9mm P220 from 1984.

*Buying a barrel of any length (no SBR laws here) requires a regular WES (gun permit), while shortening a barrel requires an exceptional permit (more expensive and harder to get than a WES).

This CZ i just acquired here is the only gun i've bought in almost a 3 year span. Glad i could find it since alot of gun stores in my area don't seem to carry any CZ's at all. It's nice to have something a little more modern than a Colt 1903 at any rate.
