The only picture I have of "my" old M10 Carbine (C8 IUR, I think Colt Canada calls it).
Upgraded features compared to the M96 includes:
16" bull barrel, compared to the 14.5" M4 cut barrel on the 96. Adds weight, because front heavy guns are nice.
RAILZ, which makes the rifle substantially heavier for no benefit. Because front heavy = best heavy.
Bigger latch on the charging handle. Was nice when you had to operate the weapon, but had a nasty habit of snagging on everything and sometimes pulling the weapon out of battery.
Ambi selector, no problems with it, should be retro fitted to all M96s, IMO.
No front sight on the gas block. Might be an improvement if you like the Magpul BIUS.
Nicer trigger. Just a general improvement.
5 times the cost of a regular M96.
Malfunction occurred on some range week. Mushy trigger, turn, looked like a double feed, lock, won't go all the way to the read, round became lodged behind the BCG, had to wait for weapon mechanics the next day.
Yes, it's dirty as fuck.
