I'll be there and perhaps a few other people, if you're in reasonable driving distance these events are pretty fun.

The guys at Battleroad USA are only a few miles from the site of our last Dandershoot in central Texas, and are hosting another zombie destruction run and gun in a few months. Date is the second weekend of April.

Just testing the water to see who might be interested in a meetup. The weather should be splendid, and the event will have modern amenities like on site camping, trash barrels, a shitter, food served after the run, and showers. There's also a raffle drawing- so someone might walk away with some cool shwag.

I've done two of these so far, and both were badass gut checks. I think the run distance has been about four miles. Best I can compare it to is a mutt mix between being kitted up during a steeple chase, summer biathlon, and spartan race.

Pic related is the last rifle stage. It's a series of awkward 300-400 meter gong shots.

I'll get pictars and an AAR up when I have a reliable (and not retardedly slow) internet connection.

I placed 36th with a time of 1:11:50. Being just five minutes faster would have put me in 5th, so that's what having to walk cost me. I started the course at a jog, but nearly became a heat injury and had to slow down.

Shoulda loaded up on electrolytes and healthy food the day before. Didn't think about it, didn't worry about it.

That won't happen again. I was combat ineffective by the halfway point, which is fine for a race, but utterly unacceptable for any sort of actual happening.

The next one will be different.

The scores came out, and looks like I took top 10 out of the 78 bodies, which is gratifying. At the same time, if I had not been such a slowpoke with the pistol shots, the score would have easily been in the top 5.

Also; my dumb ass stuffed 31 rounds in a clip, so at one of the rifle stages I looked like a monkey fucking a football loading the gun. That won't be happening again. 28 rounds is scripture, and I should know better.

I can't sing the praises of BJJ, jump rope, and kettle bell running with your gear on highly enough. The /fit/ sticky was very helpful in this regard.

In Soren's defense as well, he did shoot the thing with iron sights. Contrary to what some fudds say; having good glass just seems to make those awkward long shots easier.

Here's another picture of the wall shown in OP. The positions can be more easily seen: Chain-link fence, wood fence, through the window, under the fence, through the pipe, through the tires, and over the woodpile.

>>Currently we are looking at a COF that will require 7 stages, with 44 hits with a rifle, and 28 hits with a pistol, and ranges out to 400 yards.

>>Expected distance is 7 miles, plus or minus, as always ;-)

>>Expect to shoot from numerous unsupported positions from standing to curbside prone, and expect to use your weak hand for both rifle and pistol.

>>No supports this year. No bipods, tripods, shooting sticks, small donkeys or anything else. Sling up and shoot like a man (or one of my daughters).

>>Most targets will be steel gongs 12” x 18”, or steel representing the black scoring area of a regulation US Army “D” target.

>>Time: Time is your score, and we are shortening the time limits to three minutes for most Stages. Magazine Changes: There are no mandatory magazine changes this year.

Shooting Stages

Stage 1: Fight down the Hill — 2 gongs that must be hit once each from four, progressively closer firing lines with the first line starting at about 200 yards.

I will likely be changing jobs early next year, so it's hard for me to know if a certain date will work or not atm. Still, if it's a weekend, I should be able to make it work.

Nah, we need to find some dates that work for everyone involved.

New job is going well for now, so no issues on that front, but we need to pick this up again.

Guns Across America 2 : Electric Boogaloo
Sunday January 19, noon
On the lawn of the state capitol building in Olympia

Hey guys, it's coming up again and I hope we can get a better turn out this year. I attended last year and had a great time hanging out with Lei and Porn Cop, but as far as I know we were the only three WA Operators who attended! I'd love to see that number grow.

I, for one, intend to take my PBEAR this time. I was uncertain about it last year but after attending and seeing how many people were carrying rifles, I think I'll bring mine too.

Pics from last year are located here: http://www.operatorchan.org/meet/res/1858.html#1946

AAR: Attendance was again poor, both for operators and the meeting at large. The speakers were awful, and droned on at a nearly unintelligible volume. Some that I spoke to were under the mistaken impression that this legislative session is sunshine and rainbows for us. Others seemed enthusiastic, but unsure how to get involved with pro-fun related causes.

Other thoughts: It was too damned cold for no jacket yet. A few Guy Fawks mask wearing folks were in attendance. I saw a unicorn today, an RFB in the wild. Open carrying feels great. I may now have enough folks in my AO to do pro-fun stuff here.

Hope all are well and regret that no-one else was able to make it.

Also, OC Sharpshooters is kinda dildos as far as an indoor range is concerned. LAX range is way better ever since their remodel. Calguns also does a shoot there every month, and it's like $10 for the range fee, bring your own gun and ammo, and rifles up to .50 BMG are allowed there.

Well, maybe we can schedule a PNW ubershoot sometime. Lets make it soon, just in case it gets warm enough in the summer that we risk people start taking their shirts off and looking like faggots on camera.

BTW, anyone down for enumclaw gun show Saturday 28th? I'm looking for a cheap early Colt Woodsman and they tend to be cheaper from fudds than on gunbroker. An M1917 is fine too.

I'm going hiking at Hunter Creek park this weekend and might as well see if anyone here would like to go with me. Either Saturday or Sunday, probably Saturday. If there's anyone in the WNY area or surrounding areas looking to go hiking this weekend shoot me an email. Its only a 6+ mile hike on the path I plan on going on so it's nothing difficult. I brought my bug out bag last time I went, not that I needed anything in it except water, I just needed the exercise and I'll bring it again. I advise you bring 2L of water, but a loaded rucksack makes for a good workout.

If no responses by Friday night I'll assume no one is intrested/able to go. I can give directions to the park's parking lot if you are interested but unfamiliar with the area.

I also know a few good places for beer and wings after.

Pic related, map of the park. I took the pink trail to the creek, crossed over to the orange trail, went to the end, turned around and crossed back over.
