So, kinda late notice, but it looks like we'll be having one last shoot at the range in Bristow before I leave Oklahoma.

THIS Saturday, noon-ish.

So, mostly for Okie bros, I guess. Whatever. BE THERE!

I was the guy in the plaid button up shirt with the beard walking around asking people if they'd like to sell for cash. I had a shitty handwritten sign for the first 2 hours at the 7th st location.

I'm not going to blow it up just yet. I'll have to load up some "special" 9mm for it.

Oh, but there is another buyback next weekend. I'm going to turn in this Marlin 60 that I bought. Thing's completely worn out.

Oh, by the way, does anyone have load data for black powder 9x19?

Okay, gents. Same time, same place, this Saturday. Prepare your dollars.

The Saturday gun buyback, held at three churches across the city, netted 803 weapons: 442 handguns, 162 shotguns, 198 rifles and one assault rifle (colt sp1), according to Phoenix police.

Based on those calculations, police last weekend distributed $80,400 in gift cards — the bulk of a $100,000 anonymous donation that funded the program, a partnership between Phoenix police and the non-profit Arizonans for Gun Safety.

As a result, the buyback this Saturday will take place at only one location: Betania Presbyterian Church, 2811 N. 39th Ave., in west Phoenix. City officials said they likely will cancel the May 18 date unless the program receives more donations.

Went to the Ventura gun show with Trollbait last Saturday and the pickings were meh. Ontario is smaller than Ventura too, so I don't anticipate this show being worth the entry fee and parking.

Still, I'll be in the area Saturday/Sunday (visiting the parents), so maybe something can happen?

How was the show? Decided to pass on it, primarily because I've spent way too much on guns lately and need to save some jewgolds again.

Better than expectd. Some interesting stuff to gawk at, like a jonston 1941, and a g41. I bought some delicios jerkey too. Some decent prices on guns, and an olay selection of brands. Some stuff that looked like it didn'nt know what state it was in, like a guy who was trying to sell .300 blackout uppers.

Could we get a range list going? I've been consistently frustrated in searching for affordable outdoor ranges in the central FL area-- doubly so those that allow bimetal slav ammo to grace their berms.

Don't violate persec or anything, but private land and informal ranges would be plusgood.

I'm going out Sunday, in Broward County, if you're in the Broward County area I'll grab you or we'll link up somewhere.

Cell number is in the field.

All you non-existent Broward County operators missed out, I brought out all zee guns, SteveRodgers and I had some fun, I showed him a few tips in regards to running a gun.

Afterwards there was a bit of urban exploring in an abandoned microwave relay tower.

This thread will be for outdoor adventures inna mountains, climbing, skiing, scrambling, backpacking, hiking and that sort of thing. Figured I would put it here rather than clutter up the shooting thread.

Yea I want to do late spring/early summer because not as much winter gear will be needed.
Rental gear will be around $40 and a lift ticket will be around $50. If your shoe size is around 11 I can set you up on my rock skis but you will still have to rent poles.

Skiing, like guns, is fuckspensive and it is best to try before you buy. Though in the learning stages you can run pretty much anything, "obsolete" skis show up for cheap at valuevilliage all the time, they tend to have been top of the line 10 or 20 years ago. Like most sports, many people dive head first into a full set of stuff and then don't use it.
>> No. 2363 ID: 29932a
Also if you really want to get into skiing summit at snoqualmie has a smoking deal that is 3 days of tickets lessons and rentals for $150.

>> No. 2366 ID: 038051
Thanks for the offer, but I'm a 14. Lemme know when plans have firmed up, and I'll see where I'm at financially/transportation-wise.
>> No. 2445 ID: 26e57c
Knowing how to fall down sounds silly, but is pretty important because it keeps you from injuring yourself in case you do fall down. For example, most people try to stop a fall by putting out their hands. They then land awkwardly with all their weight on a single hand/arm. That's a good way to break something.

The best ways to fall down depend greatly on the circumstances, but for sports like skiing there are common circumstances that occur that are easily prepared for.

15th, 16th, or 17th of March, whichever is most accessible to the most people. Try and bring some #8 or #7 1/2 12g if you don't have your own shotgun, I'll loan you one. I'd rather not have to spot more than 1 or 2 operators their shells, but they are available in the area.

I've got a foot activated thrower and 135 clays as of 10 March, and I want some Operatin' Bredren be deyah' fo de christnen, braddahs. I'll supply any extra clays required if more than a few people RSVP so we can all do at least 2 rounds, them shits are cheap. If anyone wants to bring a rifle out to pop the unbroken clays, that can be fun as hell too. I can accomodate at most 2 out-of-town operators at my sleepyplace, if they either share the bed or one crashes on the couch and the other brings a sleeping bag or uses mine. Be aware you are likely to be molested by a doberman if you choose this option.

Email in the email field, shootin' place will be the same one I'm always going to, meeting place is wherever is reasonably convenient for anyone interested.

Black girl not related.

We should defs meet up for the gun buyback on the 26th, maybe we can come up on something. Afterwards we should have drinks, or possibly go shooting, if anyone knows a place with close access that is not snowed in.

Sounds good to me, anyone got any ideas?

I'd be down for a day trip somewhere, or if we can find a spot with good weather I'd be in for another attempt at camping.

Or hell, we could always gather in a city for a few days and just shoot during the days, then drink at night.

I got a .22 and free time for once the weekend of Feb 2-3.
I was hoping to do an appleseed shoot, but the only one going on is in Fresno and that's just to far out.

Thinking of getting over to Burro Canyon Shooting Park or Lytle Creek Firing Range. Any other operators want to meet up? any recomendation of which rnage is better? Might just check out both reguardless.
