After I order my CZ-97B a few people mentioned it might have some feed issue with JHP ammo then some people say the issue has been addressed by CZ by polishing the feed ramp and the newer CZ-97 has shouldn't have problem with JHP ammo. Well I wanted to test some out myself so I went to the gun store near by, GA Firing Line" and picked up a few boxes of JHP ammo. They are not cheap I tell you, one box was $44.99 for 20 rounds (no I didn't get that one and I didn't get the name of the ammo either)

Here are the 5 JHP ammo I picked up (counter clock wise from upper left corner) they are all 20 rounds box

- Hornady Critical Defense 185gr - $24.99
- Speer Gold Dot 185gr - $32.99
- Hornady TAP +P 230gr - $19.99
- PMC Starfire 230gr - $21.99
- Corbon +P 185gr - $32.99

The Test: I load up two magazine 5 per magazine then with first mag it mag is inserted with side locked back and I release the slide via slide lock then rack the slide till it's empty and lock the slide back. Eject mag and send the slide forward. Then insert second mag and rack the slide till it's empty.

The result: Four of them loaded fine all 10 rounds feeds fine and eject fine with exception of the Corbon, 4 rounds will feed fine but the last one in the mag will get stuck like this.

Right where the little crimp line is. I tried it again with different mag and even take the one that would get stuck and move it up in position and which ever round is the last round it will get stuck. Tried with different mag (I only have two to test with) and both does the same thing on the last round.

As you can see it next to the PMC Starfire there is a slight grove where the crimp line is. I gave the back of the slide a smack and I would go into battery but I don't think it's reliable like that. I will do some range test but at $32.99 for a box of 20 I think I'll do two rounds load with first round being plain FMJ .45ACP and last round with the Corbon and see if it will jam like manual cycling.

So, I was at my grandfather's the other day, snooping through his garage, and I found a bunch of lawn dart. How difficult do you think it'd be to convert them to APFSDSs to shoot out of a potato cannon?

I'm thinking; trim the fins, use a PVC tube as a mold, put the dart in the tube and use spray foam to make a sabot.

I'd love to try it now but he said I can't have the darts till he's dead.

They are, apparently. >>69 is not an uncommon story, except sometimes it wasn't so easy to pull the dart out.

Similar game, but we used to play by tossing over a fence.
Teams of two, one was the "mortarman" the other the "spotter".

Invented by an uncle who was recently back from Vietnam. And a whole fuckload of fun.

Nobody ever got spiked though.

CSPC claims "numerous deaths" (actually closer to 3) caused by lawn darts, leading to their banning in 1988. Whole metal darts and dart kits are banned from production in and import to the United States. There is a loophole for production and purchasing of individual parts as "replacements". You'd better keep those darts intact, finding original sets is a pain due to people selling them for absurd prices.

My family played jarts at EVERY picnic we had. Full set too in pretty good condition. They are still at my dad's house and when he passes away I will fight tooth and nail to get his guns and those jarts.

Don't trim the darts. Make sabots out of them using styrofoam and cardboard.

Alright, my friend fucked up his WASR. He needed me to put a new trigger assembly in it, and I have. Although now it won't cock the rifle when I rack the slide. It will cock when I manually push the hammer down with my thumb though.

I'm not sure what could be the problem. Before I switched the assemblies racking the slide would cock it. Note, this is the first time I have ever done this.

Picture unrelated, but pleasant.

I'd check your disconnect spring. It might be too short. Try shimming the inside of that little hole with a little crumpled ball of foil or something for starters.

Put the whole mess together, but leave the dust cover off.
Clamp it in a vise, with padded jaws or have someone hold the piece firmly.

SLOWLY pull the charging handle back, while paying attention to the searing surfaces on the hammer. You want to see that the hammer searing surfaces are pressed past the hooks of the sear by the base of the bolt carrier.

If it doesn't, put the old parts back in and try the same test.

Out of spec replacement parts are not unheard of.

Well I think I figured out my problem. I think I installed my hammer spring wrong or something. I was using my WASR as a refrence to see what was going on differently, and when I racked the slide on his the hammer spring slid back a bit.

So I don't exactly know what to do. I'll do some faniggaling with it yat.
