Picked up a Vortex Venom 3 MOA Micro Red Dot sight today, here are the first impressions:
- Pretty well made, I owned a Vortex S.P.A.R.C. before and it was well made like this one. I had the chance to do a side by side with a RMR at the gun store and it's up to par.

- Doesn't have a dedicated power button but hold the brightness up to turn on the sight and holding the down turn it off.

- Not sure how to explain this but when you press the brightness adjustment button you are only clicking the button and when I push harder the housing of the button doesn't give at all. As a PC tech the best way I can explain is when you plug in the AC adapter for your laptop some brands jack will move ever so slightly and after a while the solder gets weaken and stop make contact and stop charging the laptop less you hold it down a certain way.

- MSRP says $329 but I paid $229 + tax at the local gun store

- It came with a low mount which with the raiser on the Vltor CASV handguard it makes it co-witness

- The viable space is really wide you only get a little oval ring that block your view

- Because of my poor eyes sights the dot doesn't look like what the picture is showing but it's still a very tight dot according to the picture

Going commission Omegis to build a wing guard mount for it so I can raise it up to 1/3 co-witness and with added protection. Probably going to ask Stoplossed to Cerakote the wing guard mount.

It uses the 4 peg 2 hole mount like RMR

Will report back after range trip (latest would be 27th I think)
