Now that there is no PBE opchan board the sponsor link at the bottom 404s. Can we either delete it or get it updated to the webstore?
Much, thanks! <3
Hey, if you want to maintain this site's reputation as better than /pol/ and /k/ you probably want to make sure traumantic brain injury guy isn't dominating /n/'s front page. His posts are consistently near the top. I'm not advocating a ban in any way, just making sure he isn't the first thing a visitor sees.
It isn't his positions so much as... well, him. I'm not sure if he's trolling or serious, but his character is a batshit crazy racist and there are other people on this site who make similar political points without making everyone look like Stormfront's special class.
Id fully support retarded brain guy having his own thread, like the Florida thread.
That... actually sounds like a good idea!
Should there be a single Russia/Ukraine/POST PROOFS YOU PROXY COCKHOLE thread on /n/?
>Should there be a single Russia/Ukraine/POST PROOFS YOU PROXY COCKHOLE thread on /n/?
It is certainly tempting to create a new sticky thread, but the problem is we already have 2 on /n/. It is already a bit much to even have two in a board, but it was felt /n/ should be an exception. Also many threads start out innocently enough, but like a drunken game of The 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon it always seems to invoke Russia or Putin at some point. We are open to suggestions, but I think a new sticky would be a less than ideal solution.
Another idea: Accusations of being an online shill for X-country or organization are now considered personal attacks and now result in a ban. Like being called a member of the JIDF or Russian Web Brigades for example.
Consolidate user ID stalking into this too.
>people using the only purpose of IDs should be banned
IMO having a combined static photo/dynamic video board is stupid. Art/photography (static) and Video (dynamic) seperate?
well, I split off /mu/ and it gets roughly 18% as much traffic as /m/ does. There needs to be a balance between board specificity and board traffic. Right now I dunno if that's there for video vs photos.
On the flip side of the coin, can we consolidate some boards? A lot of those /m/, /mu/, /w/, /sug/ type boards really emerged from /t/ threads that were very recurring during times of ahem higher traffic, and it might make the board look less dead if we re-centralized them into one or two happenin' boards (aka /t/ and /test/) so there's a bit more variety and post frequency?
In the same breathe, I'd like to see some encouragement to post non-porn/rule breaking subjects in /t/. While /dmz/ is great as a relaxed good ol' boys club, it makes noob users (then again, do we even get any?) who are unaware of its presence think the site is dead outside of a few political shitthreads, and there's a LOT of good threads there nowadays that should belong on /t/ or /florida/ but get posted there because thats where everyone is, when, IMO, it should be a board for GETs, weeaboos, and pr0n, and occasionally mods embedding mp3s in stickies.
I'm right there with you on most of that.
Any way to save meet as a seperate board. Has a couple of complete scrubs, but I have met some pretty excellent dudes off of there.
I think we should discuss meets in /t/, and I will happily sticky them. Too many /meet/ threads are dead and I don't think they get as much exposure as they need to function right.
>this post has been cleared as not requiring any deletion
looks like whatever you're complaining about is already gone, so I am unsure what your beef is.
I think we're about due for another State of the Chan Address. Let us know what's going on back there.
January 16th is one year of new administration, so that's when I was planning on posting.
Trouble posting on /v/. When I tried to post, I got a blank screen. Navigated back to the thread and my post isn't there. I don't know if it's a failure to post or a delay. It's an issue, either way. I will check and let you know if it pops up later.
Still can't post in my thread, although other people seem to be posting in it just fine.
Super weird. Everything seems to be in order on the server end so it may be something local with you. Try clearing your browser cache and all that shit.
I've been able to post in that thread as of the 22nd. I'm certain I've cleared my browser cache between the start of the problem and then. I will keep your advice in mind should this occur again.
Here's a suggestion:
Introduce a script that, when it detects a post starting with a reference, randomly (say, 1% of the time) adds the words "Look here, you fucking nigger," or something just as ridiculous in front of the first line of actual text.
is there anyway to activate that feature?
second this, i've been requesting this for years.
If you click on the filename the image expands.
Why would you ever want anything to happen just by hovering over something?
because it's fast and convenient and I'm a lazy fuck?
I don't want to add more hovery shit TBH. I bet there are scripts that can do what you want.
lol just admit that you don't know how lamer
>placed called operatorchan
This isn't a darknet or some shit. Everything is publicly accessible and any sufficiently powerful adversary can easily use time correlation to determine who posted, regardless of encryption status because of the low flow of traffic here.
Hell, anyone with a spare drive can make a rainbow table of the IDs and know your IP address.
What is your threat model? If you can't give that, then no one here is going to take you seriously.
