I just found out that my go-to image dumping program, xChan 3.1, has malware in it and my AVG anti-spyware deleted it.
Are there any automated image dumpers you folks suggest? I found no apps in Chrome or Firefox that do this. The old xChan seems to be the only game in town and I can no longer use it. There apparently are other dumpers like ST4 Image Dumper, 4chan x and Pony Dumper, but are there ones you recommend?
Pony Dumper works, but sometimes just stops.
ST4 Image Dumper does not work on OpChan. At all.
4chan X is an application (actually two different apps) in the Chrome store, but apparently both only activate when you go to 4chan and no other chan image board:
Strangely, Pony Dumper often just stops posting on image 12.
I have to close it and start over where it left off.
A hassle. xChan was much better.
Operatorchan needs to make their own directory dumper for the users.
It's probably just a false positive. It happens from time to time. Remember 1gooey's escapades with IOsys?
I'd just keep using xChan.
You guys think about putting in some kind of world filter to stop the CP Spam?
I added something to the spam filter, hopefully that should stem the tide a bit.
Also I deleted your image file. I am not trying to be difficult but if we are trying to keep CP spam off the site, we probably shouldn't preserve it for display in image format.
Given that every so often someone drops a spam thread across all the boards...
What would be most convenient for you mods if the poster happens to have the same ID?
Finding every thread and reporting it, or just reporting it once as spam across all boards?
Generally, I think it is best to report any spam threads and posts as you happen across them. It is just one extra click for a mod to delete all posts from a user when banning someone, but in the event they forget that might leave some of the spam.
Yep. I know when I see obvious shitspam I always opt to delete all by that IP, but it still helps if everything is reported in case there's more than one spammer.
I can't seem to upload a .webm to /z/, also I can't upload .mp4s either. Is it just me or is that a feature not a bug?
>Supported file types are: 7Z, DOC, DOCX, GIF, JPG, MP3, PDF, PNG, RAR, SWF, TXT, WAV, ZIP
It's not enabled. Are there any other newfangled file types that people want enabled on /z/?
>supported file types
lol didn't read but yes I'd post a few webms I have around.
I know I'm going to get shouted down but can we move all anime in /dmz/ into a single stickied thread?
I can say that aside from illegal content, I'm pretty lenient with ban times if it's a post that violates a rule by accident or if it's not a serious infraction.
It's just that I'm contemplating violating it, but don't want to be banned for more than a day or so. I really loved the old ban thread, and want to experience something like it again.
It really purifies the spirit.
What's the policy on what is done with rule2-violating content?
Does it stay there as an example of what gets you banned... or does it get removed!
My impression was that only significant gore, spam and certain pizza gets removed, but I'm wondering. Surely not my Tibetan sand art?
What if I posted anime on a regular basis on all the visible boards?
Would the bans get shorter every time, as people got used to it?
Or would they get longer, as a process of escalation?
Or would it just be ignored, to avoid provocation?
Typically what I do (I can't speak for the other staff) is first offense if it appears to be a genuine accident is an hour ban. If it looks like someone intentionally posted some anime then it's a day ban, if there defiant and do it again soon after then it's a week ban, sometimes with an appeal sometimes not. I don't think I've ever banned anyone for more than that long. I also usually remind them to read the rules and direct them to /dmz/.
So to answer your question, they would be longer bans as time went on. If people want to post anime they can do it in /dmz/ unless the rules change which is highly unlikely.
Requesting this thread be moved to /mu/ as it's appropriateness for the board is high.
Requesting it be stickied as the music battlestation thread or whatever.
I'll take a look later today, might not sticky but will probably.move it.
any update on moving this thread? its on page 7 of /stem/, and I'd really like to preserve it for other users. It's been very helpful for me. Maybe archive it, instead.
After months of deliberation I have decided to move it to /arch/ feel free to start a new one in /mu/
thank you sir, and will do.
PLEASE CAN WE HAVE /TEST/ AGAJN.?.
The FAQ on this page says #/k/ on irc is home, but on sidebar it lists #operatorchan.
I'd also like to fix the youtube thumbnail script but I lost the code I made. Email up top.
Both are accurate.

Why the fuck is /dmz/ being moderated?
Shouldn't it be the wild wild west of us?
According to that map, there's at least one visitor from Beijing. By your logic we should also ban all content illegal in the PRC to keep that guy from getting turboV&.
What if I'm just giving Canada favored nation status?
>>2389Then you would be wrongAmerica #1 USA! USA! USA!
>shit tier moderations has ruined every board on opchan
>even the unmoderated board
>shit tier mods still don't learn
>because they are shit tier and so can't
remember when opchan used to get actual new posts?
Well, in the last 24 hours there were 134 new posts, or 5.6 new posts per hour.
That's.... pretty much the same as it's always been.
Would you consider allowing Grannies in Hoboken again in /n/? If it gets out of hand could you just make a sticky for it. I understand if you are against the idea.
To be honest when even I see threads in /n/ I see it as a pre-sorted news source I go read stuff that might interests me. But some people turn it into comment section on YouTube video.
It's devolved from actual shilling to accusations of being a shill.
Because God forbid anyone actually supports Russia for reasons other than being paid for it, must be a shill. That triangle graphic that shows up regularly, talks about tiers of types of arguments?
Yeah, /n/ is the bottom half of that triangle, 80% of the time or more. Especially on Ukraine thread 3: Not My Problem, Comrades edition.
Might as well lighten up on news. This board doesn't see near the traffic it used to. In my years here, I've rarely seen things get out of hand aside from intentional trolling or attacks.
Grannies in Hoboken usually don't last too long anyways. News has a different meaning to different people. I wouldn't mind a little more diversity so long as it doesn't turn into celebrity gossip and red carpet fashion reports.
Is it feasible to implement /pol/-style country flags in /n/?
I just want to show off my rare flag.
Possible yes, feasible prolly not for a while. We have some other things on our development plate first.
