yo chugnut, supporting the UN is the definition of globalism.
>> No. 108052 ID: d4c8ee
Yeah that's kind of the point, that sates use the UN to talk out problems instead of going to war and killing people.

Of course this does mean that you get stuff fitting of Hemingway's "six word novel" (Africa: the UN peacekeepers did nothing), but for the most part the world has experienced a unprecedented amount of peace since 1945.

The main purpose of the UN was to keep the military superpowers (and especially the nuclear superpowers) from going to war with each other by providing a forum to debate their complaints. The UN members may well be contemptuously unconcerned about what catastrophes and atrocities are occurring in the poor sections of the world, and it shows by the sporadic and ineffective missions the UN undertakes in such places, but the UN is a success if it can keep the superpowers from blasting the world to bits.
And for those who rant about how the UN is poised to make US citizens live in Hobbit homes... well, there's nothing I can say to such paranoid morons.

Probably just a coincidence. Yup, I'm sure the real cause is the League of Nat- er, the UN.

Oh there's plenty of concern, it's just hard to get the UN to do anything when Russia and China always veto anything against genocidal lunatics, because somehow they can't bring themselves to not support monsters.

There are no monsters, just animals competing, animals with different ( and often conflicting) interests.

Abandon morality, ideology, and sentiment, and the world will begin to make a hell of a lot more sense.

don't forget our own willingness (and to a lesser extent the russian's) to go out and stomp people conventionally with near total confidence and impunity.
it must really suck to be a non-american knowing every day of your life that uncle sam might just come and ruin your shit & ani't nothing to do about it. it costs us a hell of a lot, but its worth plenty too. all the angry, jealous foreigners on imageboards are a huge dividend.

Though you do realize they are not yours.

>Not because of the fucking UN.
A-bombs are the reason. UN is the mechanism, since the reason is not sufficient for the most people to rely on.

Thank you!
I was waiting for someone to reference nihilist philosopher, Max Stirner.
Johann Kaspar Schmidt (October 25, 1806 – June 26, 1856), better known as Max Stirner, was a German philosopher. He is often seen as one of the forerunners of nihilism, existentialism, psychoanalytic theory, postmodernism, and anarchism, especially of individualist anarchism.
Stirner proposes that most commonly accepted social institutions – including the notion of State, property as a right, natural rights in general, and the very notion of society – were mere illusions, "spooks" or ghosts in the mind.
He advocated egoism and a form of amoralism, in which individuals would unite in 'unions of egoists' only when it was in their self-interest to do so. For him, property simply comes about through might: "Whoever knows how to take, to defend, the thing, to him belongs property." And, "What I have in my power, that is my own. So long as I assert myself as holder, I am the proprietor of the thing." He says, "I do not step shyly back from your property, but look upon it always as my property, in which I respect nothing. Pray do the like with what you call my property!" Stirner considers the world and everything in it, including other persons, available to one's taking or use without moral constraint – that rights do not exist in regard to objects and people at all. He sees no rationality in taking the interests of others into account unless doing so furthers one's self-interest, which he believes is the only legitimate reason for acting. He denies society as being an actual entity, calling society a "spook" and that "the individuals are its reality" (The Ego and Its Own).
