Hi Operators,

I need to ask about a certain topic that used to be posted or pinned in the former WARFARE board of the opchan. I'm talking about the discussion (definitely some 120+ posts along with lot of pictorial reference materials) regarding combating enemy armour.

Is there any way to retrieve this thread? Via some chanarchive perhaps? Do admins have these threads archived somewhere?

Maybe some operator has downloaded this thread just as I did back then?

It would mean a lot if anyone could help me retrieve this thread, I need it to my "operator's library" and some training in near future. A lot of very useful info was compiled there but I lost my hdd with all of that... Hence the question.

Any chance operators? I sure hope so.

Well that's a name I haven't seen in a while. How ya doing, bud?

/w/ was locked and turned into an archive board in January of 2016, so the content might still be there.

If not, try asking on /t/.

Well what can I say mang! I got fucked on all fronts: to be pretty basic my gears went down to shit, I was lucky enough to get out of the airborne bde before I got ton of shit in my medical record. Since I'm no longer with maroon berets they transfered me to the so called... "navy", absolutely pathetic. Welp at least they made me that guy responsible for the launch, landing and prepping our heli so it's pretty decent position: not only I can arrange through my sergeant (or whatever the fuck equivalent rank is called in SEMEN vocabulary) to flight with them sometimes when we're out in the sea and the air crew still has some flight quotas to do, BUT ALSO (and it's the best thang IMO) my position itself is called here OPERATOR, FUCK YEAH! So although I failed my first SF personnel qualification at least I'm "operator" now.

Other perk is that those semen feggets run away like cockroaches whenever I get out of my workshop in hangar and I can implement my "terrifying presence" perk upon them whenever I want. Good perk. And in this cocksucking excuse for navy they have a lot of sluts in those ships crews. Not bad, but as long you ain't that 2m tall 140kg muscle packed 5kg mandingo dick swinging king dong no dirty fucking whore ain't gonna talk to ya and potentially risk moral scandal on basis of fornication. SHEEEEEEEEEEEIIIIT!!!!!111!1!

At least I have ton of time to get back in the game, do some surgeries, get my degree and attend some additional courses and classes. I'm working on improving my profile, increasing my competitiveness so after I get back on track with my health I'll get back in the game and bounce straight off into the SF (most likely combat teams are closed for me forever but support is still great option for remainder of my time and I got still at least 10 years to go).

What else, I am planning right now the "holiday in cambodia style" trip to northern Syria or Kurdistan, to spend my 6 weeks of leave in september there to see for myself how things are. But it's still a matter under question mark. Other destination is Ukraine but I'm not planning on dying just yet so I'm rather sceptical with this one.

BUT STILL, I'm working with friend of mine that got some good portion of his family already set up in the States for some 25 years now, to arrange some wives for us so we can get the green cards and enlist in the US and live life like the WHITE MAN.

Fuck that gay ass country of ours we live in now, the shittest country on this gay ass planet and cannot even into space dammit.

What's up with you man?

I can't let this slander stand.

A bunch of retards reported Acid Man to the FBI and tried to get him SWATTED/vanned.

The FBI came to his door, and he answered their questions, they dropped the investigation.

He posted their business card as proof of what happened.

He is not an FBI informant, the only reason you would say this is if you were one of the original turds that tried to get him killed.

The fact that mods here tolerate your existence is a slur on a once great website.

A) That's his version of the story, and he's a known liar. For all we know he got caught making straw sales again or sending bomb threats over video games, and turned informant to avoid prosecution. Or more likely he went to them first.

B) His posting style has already been consistent with the "FBI agent arrests terrorist plot he created" style of "non-entrapment" used with controlled opposition groups, where they pose as a super enthusiastic terrorist/militia member/animal rights weenie and advocate terrorist attacks (eg his repeated calls for "patriots" to murder the families of police officers and military personnel) until somebody contacts them for more information, and then supply that person with inert explosives before arresting them.

C) The Swatting claim is bogus. Somebody contacted his local PD and confirmed that all they did was a 10-42.

He snitched to the feds about gamergate, what's to say he's not gonna do the same for us? What's to say he hasn't already? It's ridiculous that the staff is not only refusing to acknowledge this, but is actively hindering people from being warned about a OPSEC threat.

To discuss what, exactly? All of GamerGate's dank memes? His opinion of the approximate ratio of real harassment to made-up "omg I'm being harassed buy me a new computer internet" harassment? The first being committed by anonymous dipshits he knew no personal details of.

What I remember always came across as armchair militia-member planning for a future civil conflict that will never come.

>C) The Swatting claim is bogus. Somebody contacted his local PD and confirmed that all they did was a 10-42.
That doesn't contradict that someone tried to get SWAT called on him and falls in line with what >>109403 said.

As far as I am concerned, the man is harmless.

>>109407
If he turned informant why would he post a picture of the FBI business card? Wouldn't that sort of LOWER his value as an informant?!?!

Since his posting style was always "suspicious", and he's been posting for almost a decade, wouldn't we see people being arrested by FBI at some point? Are they just keeping him deep cover like a manchurian candidate?!!?

Your version of the story contradicts itself, I'm going to stick with the version that makes sense and is from a dude I've known for years.

There's a point where you go so overboard with trying to poison the well that you make yourself obvious.

Blogpost time.

For brevity's sake I'm going to leave out all the cloak-and-dagger stuff that happened during and around all this. It'd take so much background knowledge to make sense of it that we'd be here all day.

Fuck, even right now it's like "where do I begin?"

Alright, so a couple years ago I'm doing the gamergay thing. I get to know a lot of people and work on a lot of projects. The media libels us daily with crazy shit and makes a huge strawman out of us but we're taking journalist heads left and right and things are good. We've got a big board on Fullchan, the second board we had there, because the idiot who ran the first one destroyed it.

So the guy who runs the second one is spending a lot of time hanging out with trolls and just kind of turning into an asshole. This happened to a lot of people, a sort of "burnout syndrome" that usually resulted in varying levels of disaster. On a paranoid whim I make a board of my own just in case things go south and we need a new place fast. Two days later, things went south when the board owner gave the keys to a troll group he was friends with and they sacked the place. Some shit happens and I wind up running the new replacement board. All is good for a while.

So here's where things get stupid. I have to tell you about "the cabal." Their name for it, not mine. This was a secret club of assholes that sprang from GGs IRC. They had a habit of inviting anybody important, like website admins or board owners or diggers into their group and they had e-celebrities and some number of followers in their corner. I was invited and declined twice because the guys who wrecked the old boards had been part of their group and I considered the whole idea to be AIDS.

Since I wouldn't play ball, they took to running roughshod over our board. Lots of spam and drama and goading people, just bullshit that went on for a while until I noticed that a bunch of people were leaving the board over it. Said fuck it, made a big deal out of it and banned all of them alongside some other well-known trolls like Swami. They went off to make their own board with blackjack and hookers and things were good again for a while.

About 4-5 months after this they decided to get payback by doxing me. They later claimed that someone from Opchan had helped them do it, just as an aside. They called my old job trying to get me fired, took out fake backpage ads using my info, and sent a bunch of reports to ATF, the FBI, and my local PD that I had lots of "illegal" guns in my home and shop and was threatening a nearby school. PD and ATF both asked me what the fuck was going on, so I just showed them the raid threads, the IRC chatlogs, and the social media accounts where the retards were gloating about it all. They tell me to go to the FBI with it because its a cybercrime thing. I do and wind up meeting an old friend there.

FBI's already heard about it because they got the same reports. I give the FBI everything I have on the "cabal" including a video where one of them takes responsibility for the raid and some of their dox that I collected, then wait a couple weeks and make it public that I did so, calling several out by name. They pissed and shit themselves all over the boards and social media for weeks and their board died in the aftermath alongside mine. Their resulting pussyhurt is so limitless that to this day, almost 2 entire years later, they're still mad and take any chance they can get to talk about me, and will use any accusation of any kind that they think might stick with whatever audience is listening.

The End.

Smiley face

Eh, it started a long time before Gamergate was a thing:

I'm reluctant to even engage with this because it's a drama llama black hole.

It doesn't matter if Acid Man is literally an FBI potted plant. This is a public image board and the #1 rule is don't post illegal shit. If you're worried something you're going to post would land you in prison if the FBI saw it.... don't post it.

"gamergate" and all of its attendant drama is cancerous. Please, I beg you all just stop talking about it so it can pass from our collective memories sooner.

Look man, you don't have to be a fan of it, but like it or not #GG is a likely candidate for "biggest moment of social upheaval in Internet history." It's been described as the lynchpin for everything from Twitter and Facebook's censorhip programs to the rise of the alt-right and even the election of Donald Trump. It wound up in front of the fucking United Nations. People are going to want to talk about it from time to time, especially since it involved some peeps on this very site.

Not saying you can't personally think it was stupid, but it was and is, actually-factually, a pretty big deal.

bad idea, thats the kind of attitude that lets the same retarded shit happen over and over again. if we had never let the scientology protest stooges hear the end of it then there might not have been ponyfags, or any more kind of gayass IRL meemers. people should be hounded for the rest of their lives for gaymrgayting or executed so that such harm never comes to society again.
all of these groups are the moral equivalents of furries. the only difference is that furries are utterly shameless so public humiliation isn't an effective tactic and immediate execution is the only recourse.

"i am part of the most important social movement ever" says man who yells at feminists and video game companies on the internet.

I mean now lets be serious. What have you actually accomplished? Companies are now more likely to fire people for saying stupid shit because they don't want to have the PR hassle of angry people. Games journos haven't changed shit. Any mention of "ethics" and "gaming" in the same sentence now irrevocably links the person's argument to a bunch of overly-entitled nerds whining about girl cooties. And of course, the fedora's reputation has been further damaged.

Ironically (and hilariously) I suspect Feminist Frequency, Gone Home, Brianna Wu, et al, would have been largely ignored without all the shit slinging you guys did. It's always funny when activists do a better job for their opponents than a controlled opposition group ever could.

Same thing happened with the Hugos. The puppies flailed around for a bit, most of the original members started distancing themselves from it or disavowed it, everybody voted against their picks or for "no award", and the rules got changed to prevent stuff like that from happening again. (and we got a few hilarious quotes from supporters whining about how they can't judge books by their covers any more)

We're nearing three years since it started and I can't remember that much stuff. I can tell you some things from my personal highlights if you like.

We played a major part in bankrupting Gawker Media.

We got most of the journalists who started this whole mess either sacked or shuffled into obscurity. Pic related is a great example, since she was the Fort Sumter.

We made "social justice warrior" a household perjorative, held to be as offensive as "nigger" in some circles.

We put several of the worst games media sites on life support, consisting of Google adsense and begging for donations.

Nearly all the old games media adopted formal ethics policies, most recently Destructoid, preventing journalists in the clique from shilling their friends in secret.

Turned Kotaku, Polygon, and NeoGAF from marginally respected gaming sites into reviled laughingstocks with ever-decreasing traffic.

Built a global network of activist gamers that topped a quarter million people at its peak.

Boosted Milo Yiannopolis from obscurity to stardom, taking Breitbart up along with him, which helped forge the alt-right (love or hate it) together with Mike Cernovich, another one of ours.

We had a lot of overlap with the pro-Trump Internet due to a lot of us seeing the media treat him the same way we were treated. This got way, way bigger than us, but its a fact that #GG helped start it.

Raised some ridiculous amount of money for charitable causes. We've saved sea lions, funded womens' videogames, bought clothes for the poor, and fed starving kids.

Helped oust Moot from 4chan, and took 8chan from an unknown, tiny imageboard to the second biggest on the Internet.

Got featured as the bad guys in a Law and Order episode.

All that's just a little bit of stuff I had my own hands in. The hydra's full list is astronomical. We've been fighting for better localizations of Japanese games for the past year, and brought the shitty localization issue mainstream. Right now I'm helping gear up to expose some crooked stuff the ESA has been up to, just in time for the first public-open E3 event coming up in a month and a half.

I hope that answered some of your questions.

Look, I'm sorry that you don't find any significance in what we're doing. But if all you're going to ask questions for is to set up rhetoric and score ego points, then you're not asking in good faith and that puts us at an impasse.

The only thing I have to add, in your case, is that it was the media trying to turn "gamer" into a dirty word that started all this in the first place, and we were not to blame for that.

They actually rescued the term gamer from a really gay attempt to turn it slanderous.

Nowadays we have pro gamers to the point where it's a sport with million dollar prizes, and gamers are a significant chunk of the video streaming business. The biggest personality on youtube is a gamer. I wouldn't call it a billion dollar industry, but it's growing not reducing.

Meanwhile gaming journalism... is pretty much dead. Everyone gets their gaming information from twitch and youtube, sites like Kotaku are in the crapper and I haven't heard a peep from Gawker in years.

Oh great. Now we can get our game reviews from the same "scrupulous" people who beg game studios for keys and then turn around and sell them to G2A. Or shill for G2A in the first place. Or shill CounterStrike skin gambling sites that they secretly run and profit from. That's so much better.

And it's not like they'll give unbiased reviews either. Steam had to implement new features to prevent key activations and free copies from affecting a game's review score. There's a shitton of shovelware on steam now that's emulating the mobile store race to the bottom. Sell it for a buck, 50% off on the first week, and you'll make back the cost of those unity assets thanks to 12 year olds going "what a great deal 10/10!"

Of course you would remember things that didn't happen, if it fits your narrative.

Um. That picture proves no one knows what kotaku is. Google searches =/= popularity check out Alexa or some other info aggregator instead.

Kotaku engagement is shit, it's under 5 minutes, around 3 actually. That's not enough to read one of their articles even if someone clicks on it.

Kotaku bounce rate is over 60%, in advertising parlance two thirds of the people who click on Kotaku instantly leave. Of the 64% bounces it's likely 15% of their visit are outright bots, 20% is people who clicked by mistake from social media, 26% are search engine mistakes, and 4% is mail spam. Either way the bounces are ignored when advertisers decide what the value of the site is.

Pageviews per day are also low, at less than 2. Meaning if someone gets on kotaku main page, they rarely ever click an article. This suggests that a goodly portion of those 64% bounces are actually bots. Even operatorchan has more than 2 pageviews per visitor.

>Um.
This is a total aside, and has nothing to do with the substance of the discussion, but why do people do this? What is it meant to convey in the written word in an internet argument? I ask because I see it repeatedly. The paragraphs that follow are informative and convincing, and this annoying expression that introduced them doesn't seem to emphasize or compliment them in any way. I'm sincerely curious; why is "Um." used so often ahead of a cogent point in an internet discussion?

Um, because it's a bit more natural way of getting stuff out of the grey matter and onto whatever it is you're writin' into?

Some people type how they speak, pauses (...) and various "Umm"s and "Uhh"s included.

Also as an aside, I have the opposite problem. I cuss like a sailor when I type, far more than I do when speaking. It always makes me sound angry in text, usually when I'm not.

I generally type like I talk... pauses included.

Then when I'm writing work dox/emails I have to reread and remove most of the commas and contractions.

I have write daily reports for the shit I work on, and do so pretty much in greentext format with some added punctuation and grammar.

> Arrived on site at 700.
> Reviewed safety bullshit.
> Met with customer.
> Fixed spinny thing that runs on fire.
> Spilled approx 750 gallons of oil.
> Took a huge dump.
> Cleaned up work area.
> Departed site at 2130.

And classic Opchan thread derail.

I have to do the same thing, and add way too many commas. The only useful thing I partially learned in english class was to go through and start removing as much as I could from what I write.
If I have more than one comma then I fucked up somewhere.

I just feel like posting this because its true and I forgot to comment on it earlier. Now that I run my own shop and get to decide all my inventory, the first thing I did 2 years ago was liquidate any cheap, crappy guns the shop had left in stock to other dealers, and never reorder them. No Cobras, no Hi Points, no Comanches, none of the stereotypical Saturday night specials or gangbanger guns.

I have had exactly zero crime guns traced to my shop since I did that. In two years. At the old place where the boss insisted on selling that stuff, we had over a dozen a year on average. Feels fantastic.

Do you make an effort to have cheap, quality things like PA-63s and Makarovs around? Poor people need to protect themselves, too.

Unrelated, but why does Gunbroker feel the need to serve clickbait ads in the middle of their search results? Do they seriously not make enough money from the auctions?

PA63s and Maks aren't so easy to get anymore. I did get a great batch of Tanfoglios on sale a while back though. Sold about three dozen of them at three hundred bucks a pop (retail is nearly $600) and did fantastic with them. After those dried up I went with some TP-9s and a few Bersa's for my lower-end stuff, but those aren't as popular.
