good price. I don't like dell, but that's me. CPU supports DDR4 memory, so that's kind of a shitty trade off that they gave you DDR3.

I havent used an Intel CPU in a long time, but I have herd that even when disabled, the integrated GPU can draw current and still warm up the CPU a bit. Be aware of that.

Other than that, ya dun good.

Ordering water blocks for the GPUs and hardline fittings and tube to redo the loop in the big blue monster. Prolly gonna use the old flexible tubing fittings and some spare tubing I have to do a loop in my HTPC.

You can compare the two photos from this post and here: >>55822

Dunno if I didn't flush out all the flux from the rad or if the coolant adversely reacted with the tubing... either way, gonna make the hardline loop a drainage system so's I can flush it real good if it happens again.

The real trick to the case was the PCI-Express ribbon cable. That allowed me to rotate the video card and reduce the overall height.

It was also the real problem. The cable wasn't shielded. So in the first config here, the cable would pick up noise from the processor fan.

And here it is on a hotel room table in Harrisburg, PA. No workie. Pulled everything out to trouble shoot. Power supply dead. I probably could have warrantied the power supply, but I was traveling so much I just went out and bought a ASUS Laptop with Nvidia 860M. The laptop has been working great since, and (to be honest) is much more convenient. The COC took a little time to set up and take down. Have you had any issues with dye gunking up your rads/water blocks? Any problems with moving it (if you've moved it)? I keep debating on building a custom loop, but I'm going operational at the end of the year and dunno if it's worth it or if I should just get an AIO CPU watercooler.

Pic partially related.
>> No. 58262 ID: 7d8bca
You can always get one of the expandable loops from EK if you want custom loop quality without the headache of making it look pretty.

I've traveled with my rig quite a bit to parties showing off the Vive's capabilities. A soft tubing rig with compression fittings is probably more shock resistant than my hard tubes because I can literally yank out the hard tubes from their fittings while the soft tubing is held in a bit more firmly and doesn't rely on O-rings, but I'd never go back to soft tubing for a display rig.

I feel your pain, my system looks like a rats nest. I'll probably clean it and maybe zip tie some wires together when my new graphics card comes in and I'm forced to crack the bitch open but still won't look great.

Its funny back when I used to build and repair computers semi-professionally I used to be a perfectionist. Always had to make the computers looks spiffy, wipe up the cases, bundle the wires, give everything a once over even on simple jobs.

I tried to actually take pride in my work.

But then that optimism and pride had two in the back of the head and I'm stopped caring even about my own shit.

That's such a good mouse but I still can't believe they went for that "dented to hell" look. It's similar to my disdain for pre-ripped jeans except... it's not even really the same, because mice aren't made out of metal and futhermore wouldn't get dented to shit to begin with.

I want to meet the guy who pitched this idea in a boardroom, "Alright fellas, it's a quality gaming mouse... but it looks like it's made out of aluminum that some guy went apeshit on with a ball-peen hammer."

File 147670556246.jpg - (65.23KB , 800x533 , 18radoxbe9ji0jpg.jpg )
Shit, I didn't even realize that was pre-dented.

Yeah I feels ya on the pre-damaged look, really the whole fashionably damaged look in general. I mean sometimes its cool for like custom shit, battle damaged costumes and crap like that. What really gets me all pissed off is when people try to do that to imitate physical damage. Back in my goth days, such as they were, I'd regularly see people with painted on scars on their faces and arms. Douchebags are so fucking pussyfied they can't even actually cut themselves because mommy and daddy didn't buy them a Playstation or N64. I actually got complimented by fucktards on how good my makeup looked, how realistic my scars looked. Wall, meet head.

Apparently people do that shit with like firearms, take a nice weapon and fuck it up, bubba it, to try to make it look like it went through a war or some dumb shit. Not just weathering the weapon, but actually damage it to give it a battle damaged look.

If something looks damaged through wear and tear and you want to leave it like that, thats fine. Fuck, I got a pocket knife I literally dug out of the ground, blade is corroded as shit, wood is nasty look, brass ain't shiny, it looks like the Grim Reapers pocket knife. I like it that way. But to try to get looks like that artificially seems wrong.

Now that said something like the dented mouse would work with some computers. Shit like the Stalker inspired rigs wouldn't look good with just a normal mouse. You'd need a battle damaged look for it.

Fallout Tactics came on THREE CDs. That's a son of a bitch on a 6x drive CD rom drive.

Reason I unfortunately didn't buy it. It was almost, almost, worth the 50 bones when it came out just for the mini-nuke but I must have some jewish ancestor because I just really couldn't bring myself to pay $50 for what is no doubt a cheap ass paperweight.

I know the feelings of being a srs gamer. Red Faction 1 and 2 I've bought 3 times on PS2, PC, then Steam. Have Fallout 3 twice, physical GFWL version and Steam. Jedi Academy I've bought 4 times, launch day PC version, Xbox version, a replacement for the original PC version after a family member nabbed it and a replacement for that one because the discs were starting to get worn from overuse. I'm pretty positive I've had atleast 3 copies of GTA 3.

I've had 4 copies of DOOM 3, original I still got despite the fact the cardboard is falling apart, the castrated Xbox version, a Steam version of BFG edition that I could never fucking get to work, and a PS3 version of the BFG edition I bought after getting royally pissed I couldn't play the Steam version. Thats not even getting into all the other versions of DOOM I got.

Resident Evil 4 I used to have the PS2 version and played the GC version and now got it for PC. By the Force I'd forgotten how wonky the controls are and how cheesy Leon is. I understand them wanting to leave the original play style intact but goddamn is it bad. Not nearly as bad as the other Resident Evils that came before, couldn't even play those games at all, but its going to take a bit of getting used to again.

Much as I love the game I'd love to find some mods to improve the graphics and maybe add less Micheal J Fox style aiming.
