This truly is cancer.
There's a Pokestop and gym that just opened on a little road right over the bridge that leads to the main road I need to get home.
Before Pokemon Go, I had no troubles getting through it at any time of day, even rush hour. But, now the congestion is so bad, it takes me over 10 minutes, sometimes 20 or more to get through the road that normally takes under 30 seconds, maybe 2 or 3 minutes if I'm caught at the 3 lights.
And I've seen so many people get rear ended because they were looking at their phone. Every time I'm at a red light, I'm constantly looking behind me ready to gun it between the cars ahead of me. I mean, I did that before, it's a good habit on a bike, however I'm straight up anticipating it, especially now that people are stopping closer and harder because of this shit.
I'm not even mad at the game, it's the obsession that leads to straight up negligence that I don't get. It seems like a sort of fun game, but more of a "I'm stuck in the waiting room, let's see what I can catch" kind of thing, not "HOLD UP, STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD! THERE'S A MOTHERFUCKER MAGIKARP!"
Not to mention the people wandering into the road while looking at nothing but their phone.
